[Atreyu]

A global cataclysm occurs which leads to the end of the world and has survivors struggling for their lives. The film is inspired by several hypotheses that state that the ancient Mayans predicted a doomsday event will occur sometime around the 2012 winter solstice.

* Oliver Platt as Carl Anheuser, the President's Chief of Staff.

* Woody Harrelson as Charlie Frost, a man who prophesies the end of the world and is considered crazy by others. Alex Jones claimed in an interview with Eric "Mancow" Muller that Harrelson told him that Frost's character was based on him. Harrelson compared his character to the mythological Greek figure Cassandra, whose predictions were dismissed.

* Thomas McCarthy as Gordon, Kate's current boyfriend and a plastic surgeon.

The first time I heard of this movie was a few months ago with a different release trailer, which was really boring and left a bad impression. It was like 2 minutes of showing a man walk up to a gong, hit it, and then get consumed by the huge waves.
But then I saw the newer trailer, and it looks pretty good.
The special effects are very boomish, lol.
Intense music.
Kinda weird how John Cusack survives a huge meteor shower where his car gets hit

I went to see that movie in which the Earth's core stops spinning and that would mean the end of the world unless they manage to make it spin again.

I went to see The Day After Tomorrow, a movie about another fictive massive cataclysm destroying the Earth.

I saw Comet, and Armageddon.

This one shall be added to the list. Looks good!

Omg, that is exactly what this movie is about, they don't think it'll come and then suddenly a meteor hits them and some guy just goes "pwnt, too bad newbs."

You can't be sure, although it sounds lame. But it'll indeed suck for the mayans if nothing happens "Ehh lol, shouldn't we have been dead by now?" "Yeah, but as far as I can see nothing happened." "Oh well, now we have no calendar! Great!"

But omg "The end" .... "is just the beginning". No wai, that's a cliché!

Omg, in class some time ago, we had to watch The Core and The Day after Tommorrow and list ALL of the geological errors in it.
That killed the movie for me
