Here's the perfect gift for the person in your life who's always losing their keys - but you'll have to wait till Christmas 2013 to give it as a stocking stuffer.

A team of designers has invented quarter-sized stickers with Bluetooth technology inside that can track objects you're likely to misplace. You can attach one to the remote control so you'll never again have to search for it between the couch cushions, or attach one to your luggage so you'll know exactly when your bags up on the baggage carousel.

The tiny devices are controlled by a smartphone app that displays how far away you are from the objects you've tagged. Tap an object on the screen and that sticker will buzz or light up, allowing you to find whatever it's attached to. The app allows you to keep track of up to 20 objects at a time, according to StickNFind’s website.

The stickers have a battery life of about a year, and work within a range of about 100 feet.

The app also has a ‘virtual leash’ option in case you want to put a sticker on your pet’s collar, sending you an alert if they move a certain distance away from your phone.

I have a better Idea. Buy a shitty phone with prepaid that has everlasting batteries and hang it on your keychain. You can then call the phone and through sound it will reveal it's position !

Everlasting batteries doesn't sound like a real thing to me.

Will it help me find my phone?

if you put the chip in your phone's case or battery compartment, and then use another phone to find it, yes (within it's 100 foot range) - otherwise you are probably better off with some GPS-based findmyphone system

I've personally adapted to having it hooked on a chain that I have in my ear.

Reading all of these posts makes me remember the times I used a phrase so well, people made it a cult classic.

"Dude, where's your car?" "Where's your car, dude?"

Then again, Phones have no batteries ^^ They have akkumulators  Which is kinda everlasting when you can recharge it.
They are definitely not everlasting. They are used up at some point too at which it is not possible to recharge them.

Then the word 'ever' shouldn't be involved.

Looks like Google fixed whatever mistake that made the recipes on the site go crazy and we are no longer trending towards a recipe site lol - I don't care though because it motivated me to spend alot of time on the site improving it and at least now the content people are looking at is not stupid and embarrassing like it was when I first got back into this like 5 years ago.
  • The Helper The Helper:
Plus - I have a pretty bad ass recipe collection now! That section of the site is 10 thousand times better than it was before
  • The Helper The Helper:
We now have a web designer at my job. A legit talented professional! I am going to get him to redesign the site theme. It is time.

I got one more day of community service and then I'm free from this nonsense! I polished a cop car today for a funeral or something I guess

They also were digging threw old shit at the sheriff's office and I tried to get them to give me the old electronic stuff, but they said no. They can't give it to people because they might use it to impersonate a cop or break into their network or some shit? idk but it was a shame to see them take a whole bunch of radios and shit to get shredded and landfilled

How come you're so into recipes lately? Never saw this much interest in this topic in the old days of TH.net
  • Monovertex Monovertex:
Hmm, how do I change my signature?
  • tom_mai78101 tom_mai78101:
Signatures can be edit in your account profile. As for the old stuffs, I'm thinking it's because Blizzard is now under Microsoft, and because of Microsoft Xbox going the way it is, it's dreadful.
  • The Helper The Helper:
I am not big on the recipes I am just promoting them - I use the site as a practice place promoting stuff

@tom_mai78101 I must be blind. If I go on my profile I don't see any area to edit the signature; If I go to account details (settings) I don't see any signature area either.
  • The Helper The Helper:
You can get there if you click the bell icon (alerts) and choose preferences from the bottom, signature will be in the menu on the left there https://www.thehelper.net/account/preferences

I think I need to split the Sci/Tech news forum into 2 one for Science and one for Tech but I am hating all the moving of posts I would have to do
