Can WE control the length of the progress bar?

I heard there are some bugs with the progress bar. Some says just click a mouse button and the map it was suppose to load would start. Or, other times, the map is unplayable, and WC3 would stall until one gets a fatal error.

Some questions:

Is there a way how?
Are there maps that could reproduce the effect, if not available in WE?
Can using some mods would create the bug described above?
If using JASS, would bugs like that be more prone to happen than not using JASS?
Are there solutions on how to fix the progress bar bug?
