Wow!
Looking at that video, it seems pretty awesome.
However, if I wanted to play an epic RPG like that, I'd prefer to play WoW. :D

But, I must say, it does seem VERY good!

Is this map still being updated? It would be a shame if it wasn't. Well, I tried playing it with some of my relatives and they said that it's way too complicated to learn easily. It's very complex but it's a really cool map -- you just gotta learn how to play it first.

I played this map now for some days (Well, I never managed to come beyond the second island, since anyone on the BNet always left after some minutes), and recognized some problems:


1) You got a problem with localized WC3 versions. For example, when I use the attack command, the tooltip says "C", but for german versions, it's actually "K". You have to make sure that for every ability and command, the hotkey value in the ability manager is marked red (changed), or you will have problems on different WC3 versions. As far as I tested, this only is the case for attack, but there might be other abilities.

2) Some things are TOO complex, I think. I don't understand why you can't rightclick on a mob to autoattack. This is weird and makes the game unneccesary complicated.

3) Come to think of it: The stamina bar fills way too slow. Maybe this changes later, but it looks strange, if the heroes can only attack twice in a minute o_O'

4) The fishing thing is strange. I didn't really figure out until now how it works. I got a fishing pole and something to attach to it, but I didn't figure out how.
Also, it's not really clear how to increase the chance of success. I fished for half an hour and only caught 3 fishes. Most of the time I got nothing. Are there special spots for fishing? If yes, I didn't spot them.


Anyways, this map is awesome. Too complicated for fast Bnet games, but a nice thing on LANs.

Arkan i noticed you have a custom ingame minimap. I have one question and that is: Are you using the blight tile on this map? I didnt notice any blight on the Ingame minimap so i guess not? But if you do, can you tell me how to get rid of it since im also using a Custom minimap image :)

Btw, the game looks really cool :)

I like the game but, can you implement a arrow key movement system because I couldn't even get up the first mountian without trying like 5 times.

It seems very multiboard oriented. Did you create all of the multiboard features yourself? I really like them!

Usually movement with arrow keys doesn't work that well with lag on b.net. And since the multiboards use the arrow keys it would screw that up too.

Arkan wrote it all from scratch, but probably got a few ideas and hints from already existing multiboards. But Arkan can probably give you a better answer.

Me and Arkan had a discussion today about the latest version of Dark Invasion II. And we came to the conclusion that we'll be able to release it "pretty" soon. While we were speaking of it, I suddenly got the urge for some terraining and he felt like doing some scripting. (yay!)

So right now..
I'm going over all the terrain again, making small changes here and there. Arkan is fixing all the scripting and implementing my brilliant quests and ideas :)

Looks really good but the first picture, the little village looks really wierd. Its random houses with bidges beside them. I don't think the house models fit the theme either. The second pic looks good but somewhat empty. THe last 2 pics ar ok, but they have orange trees beside ashevale trees. Its either you change the colour of the orange leaves to green, or the colour of the green leaves to orange. Also, looks wierd when you have like 7 huge trees beside 100 small trees. Might want to change that. Good luck anyway :).

Yeah I know and I'm not really satisfied with the village either. I'll see what I can do.

Hmm, not so sure about this. Looks pretty good ingame in my opinion.

For the tree's all you have to do is set the size of some of the tree's to be larger so it looks more natural.

I've only started playing DI2, and I must say - wow! I've never seen a map this customized, the entire game has been converted. This might as well be a standalone MMORPG - and I would be happy to pay for it.

You guys (Arkan/Pidda) are very talented. Im imba jealous :)

Here's a new version of the village with log houses. I think it suits the theme better but please feel free to respond with some feedback.

I still think the ground and surrounding environment needs some more work though. Gonna work on this before we (hopefully) release a new version this weekend.

That looks much better. For the snow, you could do more tile variation if you think it needs work but there aren't many snow tiles that mix very well.

    I bought an Ender 3 during the pandemic and tinkered with it all the time. Just bought a Sovol, not as easy. I'm trying to make it use a different nozzle because I have a fuck ton of Volcanos, and they use what is basically a modified volcano that is just a smidge longer, and almost every part on this thing needs to be redone to make it work

    Luckily I have a 3d printer for that, I guess. But it's ridiculous. The regular volcanos are 21mm, these Sovol versions are about 23.5mm

So cool, new bracket to swap that, but THEN the fan shroud to direct air at the part is ALSO going to be .5mm to low, and so I need to redo that, but by doing that it is a little bit off where it should be blowing and it's throwing it at the heating block instead of the part, and fuck man

And no one else makes shit for Sovol so I have to go through them, and they have... interesting pricing models. So I have a new extruder altogether that I'm taking apart and going to just design a whole new one to use my nozzles. Dumb design.

    Can't just buy a new heatblock, you need to get a whole hotend - so block, heater cartridge, thermistor, heatbreak, and nozzle. And they put this fucking paste in there so I can't take the thermistor or cartridge out with any ease, that's 30 dollars. Or you can get the whole extrudor with the direct driver AND that heatblock for like 50, but you still can't get any of it to come apart
