After I ready a little bit about Jass, I think it's not a thing that can be learned within few months... So , Will Jass related to all the Blizzard Game map editors?
I'm a noob on programing, so dont laugh or curse on me, Just a question, wish anyone could show a answer or something....~:D

JASS will not be used in the Starcraft II editor sadly, but i'm pretty sure if you're used to the GUI functions in Warcraft III, it will be easy to get started with GUI in Starcraft II.

Im not sure whether or not JASS is common on all blizzard platforms, but im guessing that it would be something similar. Warcraft and Starcraft have similar concepts in relation to how things are done within the game.

It would probably be a good idea to learn JASS. It doesn't take very long to learn at all, there are a lot of tutorials on this site that can boost your JASS knowledge in only a few days.

P.S: Don't double post. You may make someone angry. :p

Tell your parents they are fags. Lol. Programming is one of the best things to do for money, and a lot of the languages have same/similar mechanics and all you need is a syntax guide. Anyways, SC2 will use C++ or something like it, I believe.

I heard that SCUMEdit is going to have its language "C based", so it will be a different language. However, knowing JASS gets you a bit familiar with programming languages

Knowing a language always makes it easier when you're learning another, because many things are similar, and some could even transfer over. JASS is a very limited "language" in that it applies to the objects inside of Warcraft III, whereas programming languages are very open.

However, I am trying to learn Perl and Visual Basics, and JASS has made things 10x easier, even though almost nothing is the same in syntax.

Learn JASS, and expect similarities in the new editor, but don't expect syntax to be the exact same thing.

Just as a note, if you don't know what syntax is, syntax is how the code in the programming language is built and written in a certain order / capitalization .. etc

Also, really? If ScumEdit will be more of a C/C++ programming oriented language, then that will be better for me :D, I am too lazy to learn stuff like JASS, etc ...

But, I am currently learning: More C++, ActionScript 3.0, and PHP, :p

Let me just try to learn C language, since it's the basic...right? I suppose? Which is the best language to learn for a beginner? guys, any suggestions?

Well all languages can be learned by a beginner. I'd start with a fairly simple langauge, such as C++ or C and read some tutorials. You'll get better from there.

my suggestion is c# or .net, .net does include visual basic and support of others, but C# is like a cleaned up version of c++. Its not quite as fast, But for most programs you wont notice a difference, and if you get real deep you can always just do the high processing stuff in c++ anyway.

c# is just a easier programing language to learn, and is becoming main stream, although it was made after c++, it isn't taking over its role, but is a very powerful tool.

Hmm, how do I change my signature?
  • tom_mai78101 tom_mai78101:
Signatures can be edit in your account profile. As for the old stuffs, I'm thinking it's because Blizzard is now under Microsoft, and because of Microsoft Xbox going the way it is, it's dreadful.

@tom_mai78101 I must be blind. If I go on my profile I don't see any area to edit the signature; If I go to account details (settings) I don't see any signature area either.

Crazy how much 3d printing has come in the last few years. Sad that it's not as easily modifiable though
  • Varine Varine:
I bought an Ender 3 during the pandemic and tinkered with it all the time. Just bought a Sovol, not as easy. I'm trying to make it use a different nozzle because I have a fuck ton of Volcanos, and they use what is basically a modified volcano that is just a smidge longer, and almost every part on this thing needs to be redone to make it work
  • Varine Varine:
Luckily I have a 3d printer for that, I guess. But it's ridiculous. The regular volcanos are 21mm, these Sovol versions are about 23.5mm
  • Varine Varine:
So, 2.5mm longer. But the thing that measures the bed is about 1.5mm above the nozzle, so if I swap it with a volcano then I'm 1mm behind it. So cool, new bracket to swap that, but THEN the fan shroud to direct air at the part is ALSO going to be .5mm to low, and so I need to redo that, but by doing that it is a little bit off where it should be blowing and it's throwing it at the heating block instead of the part, and fuck man
  • Varine Varine:
I didn't realize they designed this entire thing to NOT be modded. I would have just got a fucking Bambu if I knew that, the whole point was I could fuck with this. And no one else makes shit for Sovol so I have to go through them, and they have... interesting pricing models. So I have a new extruder altogether that I'm taking apart and going to just design a whole new one to use my nozzles. Dumb design.
  • Varine Varine:
Can't just buy a new heatblock, you need to get a whole hotend - so block, heater cartridge, thermistor, heatbreak, and nozzle. And they put this fucking paste in there so I can't take the thermistor or cartridge out with any ease, that's 30 dollars. Or you can get the whole extrudor with the direct driver AND that heatblock for like 50, but you still can't get any of it to come apart
  • Varine Varine:
Partsbuilt has individual parts I found but they're expensive. I think I can get bits swapped around and make this work with generic shit though
