Why is it that the RoC world editor won't let me place walls in consistency with each other? I can't seem to figure a way to place the walls the way I want them to... help me out please
On your numpad, press the arrow keys 2,4,6,8 to move the walls (and any other doodads or units) left, right, forward, back. Press pgup and pgdown to change the height of the object.
Well, it's not so much that I can't figure out how to change where the placement is, but with the walls in particular. If I try to move a wall next to an already placed wall so they are connected(kind of like __ that) the wall will turn red, not allowing me to place it... it only allows me to place them if they are a certain distance apart and it doesn't look like a wall just sections of walls.. example would be: _ _
It's pretty frustrating.. because I know there were walls in the campaign
well if you're really fussy about wanting to place a new wall to make it instantly join with another, then simply go into the doodad editor and set the pathing map for the wall to 'none'. Having said that, however, I think there may be a bug in the game that crashes it when you do this.
Oh yeah I forgot to add something to the above post I made. Simply using the numpad and pgup and pgdown only gets you so far. You need to use the ctrl key in combination with these keys to get the walls to perfectly join up.
What doodad editor are you talking about? I don't see it anywhere in the RoC editor... and the page up+page down with control doesn't seem to work either.. :S
Scratch that.. I understand what you mean by control and the page keys.. but that doesn't seem to help with placing the walls next to each other.. unless I'm missing something
aagh crap, I tell everyone to say if they are using the RoC or TFT editor, and then I just go and plain ignore it when you all tell me which one you are using! maybe i need to make another sticky to remind myself to read the posts properly...........
sorry, no doodad editor in RoC. And yes, I know it is frustrating that you can't automatically place walls right next to each other, but unfortunately that's how blizz designed it, and there isn't too much we can do to change it. It's not like adjusting walls after placing them is hard though, it's pretty easy for me at least.
Lakroth: I've pretty much said all there is to be said, there shouldn't be any reason why ctrl- arrow keys doesn't allow you to get walls right next to each other.
That is, assuming you're using a PC - if you have a mac, maybe that might change things.... (i have no idea though)
I finally figured out what it was... I have to hold control and use the arrow keys to get the walls in conjunction with each other. Thanks for the help, Darg!
hehe, np, sorry I thought that would have been an obvious thing, holding down ctrl and pressing the arrow keys, but maybe next time someone asks I'll make sure to explicitly mention this
Signatures can be edit in your account profile. As for the old stuffs, I'm thinking it's because Blizzard is now under Microsoft, and because of Microsoft Xbox going the way it is, it's dreadful.
@tom_mai78101 I must be blind. If I go on my profile I don't see any area to edit the signature; If I go to account details (settings) I don't see any signature area either.
You can get there if you click the bell icon (alerts) and choose preferences from the bottom, signature will be in the menu on the left there https://www.thehelper.net/account/preferences
I bought an Ender 3 during the pandemic and tinkered with it all the time. Just bought a Sovol, not as easy. I'm trying to make it use a different nozzle because I have a fuck ton of Volcanos, and they use what is basically a modified volcano that is just a smidge longer, and almost every part on this thing needs to be redone to make it work
So, 2.5mm longer. But the thing that measures the bed is about 1.5mm above the nozzle, so if I swap it with a volcano then I'm 1mm behind it. So cool, new bracket to swap that, but THEN the fan shroud to direct air at the part is ALSO going to be .5mm to low, and so I need to redo that, but by doing that it is a little bit off where it should be blowing and it's throwing it at the heating block instead of the part, and fuck man
I didn't realize they designed this entire thing to NOT be modded. I would have just got a fucking Bambu if I knew that, the whole point was I could fuck with this. And no one else makes shit for Sovol so I have to go through them, and they have... interesting pricing models. So I have a new extruder altogether that I'm taking apart and going to just design a whole new one to use my nozzles. Dumb design.
Can't just buy a new heatblock, you need to get a whole hotend - so block, heater cartridge, thermistor, heatbreak, and nozzle. And they put this fucking paste in there so I can't take the thermistor or cartridge out with any ease, that's 30 dollars. Or you can get the whole extrudor with the direct driver AND that heatblock for like 50, but you still can't get any of it to come apart
