DVD iso images Possible?

Hi Gang,

Been a while since I used my Nuon, I have to admit. But I've always wanted to get IS3 and I know how rare they are to find.

I really don't believe in stealing software, but is it possible to copy the Nuon DVD images? Not just IS3, but all the Nuon games. Unless Songbird or someone else gets the rights to these games, I don't see any being made again.

thanks,
Rob

I'd gladly post them if I knew it wouldn't be frowned upon.

I don't mind. I know I had a different opinion a while back, but now that NUON is pretty far gone I wouldn't have a problem with more people being able to play the games. Just realize that it's still technically copyright infringement.

Hey man you are going to bring down the value of my IS3.... J/K I would never sell that anyway.

Heh. Honestly though I think collectors will always pay to have the real thing.

The first game is now uploaded. I'll wait and see what K3V has to say before I start posting links.

I'm a collector and prefer to have the real thing, like my Atari collection. But when something is not available, not produced and extremely rare, I personally feel it's ok. I do like to see, if possible, the original copyright holders give the permission. But in this case how many can give the ok?

I live in Chile. The only original game I own is Ballistic that came with my N501.

A few years ago. 2001 or 2002 I tried to buy some games from Amazon, Ebay, and other sites with no luck. If you can upload backups of original games will be great. I have no other way to get some games for my N501.

I hope K3V agree.

If anyone complains or writes me I would have to remove the links because of the DMCA - and the files could not physically live on this server.

What you guys do isn't really up to me. It's probably best to keep talk (and links) of such matters off of this board, though, for the sake of myself and The Helper, etc. Thanks.

I think given the rarity of Nuon stuff, any distributing of ISOs and such would screw over the people on here who have taken the time (and money) to build up collections of original games.

Coming to this board with one post to your name asking for ISOs is taking the piss.

I would totally feel guilty selling the IS3 CD for any kind of money since I got it for free (besides the shipping).

I cannot see how it would screw them over in the least bit unless the said collector is just collecting to resell the game again at gouging prices. Such a collector is far worse for people that just want to enjoy the games than anyone distributing the ISO's. It is not like someone downloading the ISO makes the copy you have any less real. You still got an original disc and what they have is nothing but a burnt DVD-r.

I may have only made one post on this forum (using this username) but i have had an N501 for ages and have bought a couple of original games for it.
The only reason i ask for iso's is that the original games are very hard to get hold off (at least in the UK) and when you do find them they aint cheap.
These games are not being made anymore and downloading iso's for now defunct games machines is not ripping anyone off.

I agree

I'll second mattmayatt's request. I would hope getting the games out to those interested would be more important than selling them on ebay or bragging about your copy of IS3. The Nuon community is very small and will continue to shrink as hardware dies and people replace dvd with next gen players. Inject some life into it and get the ISO's out to the public. Everyone should get to enjoy the quality games while they can!

Signatures can be edit in your account profile. As for the old stuffs, I'm thinking it's because Blizzard is now under Microsoft, and because of Microsoft Xbox going the way it is, it's dreadful.

Crazy how much 3d printing has come in the last few years. Sad that it's not as easily modifiable though
  • Varine Varine:
I bought an Ender 3 during the pandemic and tinkered with it all the time. Just bought a Sovol, not as easy. I'm trying to make it use a different nozzle because I have a fuck ton of Volcanos, and they use what is basically a modified volcano that is just a smidge longer, and almost every part on this thing needs to be redone to make it work
  • Varine Varine:
Luckily I have a 3d printer for that, I guess. But it's ridiculous. The regular volcanos are 21mm, these Sovol versions are about 23.5mm
  • Varine Varine:
So, 2.5mm longer. But the thing that measures the bed is about 1.5mm above the nozzle, so if I swap it with a volcano then I'm 1mm behind it. So cool, new bracket to swap that, but THEN the fan shroud to direct air at the part is ALSO going to be .5mm to low, and so I need to redo that, but by doing that it is a little bit off where it should be blowing and it's throwing it at the heating block instead of the part, and fuck man
  • Varine Varine:
I didn't realize they designed this entire thing to NOT be modded. I would have just got a fucking Bambu if I knew that, the whole point was I could fuck with this. And no one else makes shit for Sovol so I have to go through them, and they have... interesting pricing models. So I have a new extruder altogether that I'm taking apart and going to just design a whole new one to use my nozzles. Dumb design.
  • Varine Varine:
Can't just buy a new heatblock, you need to get a whole hotend - so block, heater cartridge, thermistor, heatbreak, and nozzle. And they put this fucking paste in there so I can't take the thermistor or cartridge out with any ease, that's 30 dollars. Or you can get the whole extrudor with the direct driver AND that heatblock for like 50, but you still can't get any of it to come apart
  • Varine Varine:
Partsbuilt has individual parts I found but they're expensive. I think I can get bits swapped around and make this work with generic shit though
