EOZS is a co-op survival/horror map for WarCraft III, that gives players the opportinity to play toghether in a fight for survival.
Background Story
After the first apparence of the Plague in the Eastern Kingdoms, the King has sent expeditions all over the world to find and destroy any infection. A team has been sent to the underground mines of Eldnaar.
Eldnaar was an old dwaren city, that has been offered to the humans, after the war against the Burning Legion.
Because this place was so isolated from the rest of the world, the possibillity of an infection was quite low, but the Expedition had to make sure the area is safe. However, if there was any sign of an infection, the teams' job was to make sure the plagued ones don't reach the surface.
Short gameplay overview
Each player has to chose one hero, each one with he's own abilities. Your job is to make sure the plagued zombies don't reach the surface.
During this time, you will need to build an outpost to defend the exit, but also scavange for resources to help you survive. Be careful though, because there is a high probability that there are many plagued zombies in the mine.
Players will be also able to find some Food Crates along the way, that can help them stay alive longer.
The Plagued forces
The map setting is dark, horror, based on narrow corridors and places filled with corpses and blood. The map focuses on teamplay, rather than soloing, and also features some interesting concepts, such as the addition of a "zombie player".
This player joins the Plagued force, with the objective to hunt down and eliminate the Survirors team. During this time, he will be able to use the Stalker, a fast moving, fast attacking creature, that represents the main threat for the Expedition. This Stalker uses the concept of a deadly monster that is able to move almost undetected behind it's prey and is able to eliminate the main characters of the story.
The zombie player can also spawn some undead minions to help him along the way. In order to create these units, the player requiers lumber. The unique aspect about this is that, while the other team cuts down trees to get lumber, the zombie player receives lumber for each and every successful hit on an enemy.
The Expedition
The Expedition heroes are also unique and different in their own way. Some are faster, some are slower, some have different attack ranges, attack rates, damage, hp, armor, but also spells and abilities. Another difference between each hero, is the number of backpack/inventory slots.
Also, there is only one hero that can build structures ( the Worker ) and three that can cut down trees in order to get lumber ( the Worker, Swordsman and Flamethrower ).
The Sentry and the Archer, being elves, can hide while not moving. The Archer cannot attack from melee range, so it is better to keep her out of ambushes.
The Soldier and the Rifleman are able to do great damage. The Rifleman can shoot more enemies at a time, using his Shotgun, while the Soldier uses his weapon to do good bursts of damage.
There are many other differences between each hero.
Crafting
The Worker is able to build and gain access to Workshops and Blacksmiths, from where he can create weapon and armor upgrades for each hero. Some better upgrades require different ingredients in order to be crafted.
All weapon and armor upgrades can be used only by some specific heroes, so be careful when purchasing an upgrade.
The map also comes with an Info tab, where you can find detailed information regarding most aspects of the gameplay.
The only way you are going to survive the waves of monsters is to stick together and play like a team.
