I finally decided to jump on the bandwagon. Element TD will be coming to SC2!

This won't be a new game. This will be an evolution of a proven concept. No stone will go unturned in harnessing the power of the new editor. I'm looking forward to doing things that couldn't be done in WC3.

But...I can't do it alone. I'm putting together a team to make this a reality. Please see below and email me at admin@*****.com (eletd) if interested;

Moved this to the editor forums, you might have better luck there.

Aren't you rushing with this ? And, finding someone with experience with the SCII editor at the moment is almost impossible, since the actual game has been out for less then 48 hours.

It's really similar to wc3, so it actually IS possible to find people with wc3 editor experience (and thus advantage in sc2 - yet not knowing most new functions).

Dude, I keep contact with atleast 10 coders and just 2 of them are happy with the editor. The so called data editor is powerful, yes, but it has nothing to do what so ever with the warcraft 3 one. Nothing.

Yup the learning curve is a bit steep that's for sure.

Is it because the galaxy script can't be used with ease or because the gui is cumbersome to use?

Hm, if you say so. I'm still waiting for my CD, but right now it seems to be far more awesome as wc3's world editor.

Exactly, and you can't master it in 1 day :D

>Is it because the galaxy script can't be used with ease or because the gui is cumbersome to use?
Not sure, I am not a coder, but my guess is because the galaxy script is rather more complex.

Soon I will make some shit map to test the editor possibilitis when someone with 0 experience uses it :DD

Ofcourse, but it is a lot more complex then it too :pP

well, I was too young to know what the wc3:roc b.net was like, but, imho I think that firstly everyone will playthe campaing. Then play some ladder (it is f*cking amazing, f*cking amazing, I highly recommend it to EVERYONE) and after that (a couple of months later) play custom maps.

I am not trying to put you down or something, all I am saying is that it might be a good idea to stalk the comunity before starting a project. It might be unwise you spend valuable time into this project, while when you release it it won't be played that much because of the ladder.

Still, this is just my oppinion.

Good luck on your map. War3 version was fun as hell.

Hi there, Karawasa!

I've been playing your map up and until Starcraft II came out ;) Version 4.3 was really your crowning achievement.

If you should be in need of help, especially coding (though I don't suppose you do, but anyway) feel free to ask.

I'm looking forward to seeing this map. Any risky guesses on when a beta or a final version will be available?

See you then!

Yours,

Ouguiya

It's the TowerDefenseMultiplayer or w/e it's called. It has four players and the exact layout of your map. Same upgrade system (every 10 levels you get 1 gas). Different upgrades and towers, but otherwise exactly the same. Oh, and it has the same number of lives, difficulties, worth system etc.

It has lava terrain.

There will be a beta phase before we release to the public. As we get closer to that, I will start a general beta recruitment thread. However, if you have experience from WC3 then you may be recruited now.

Signatures can be edit in your account profile. As for the old stuffs, I'm thinking it's because Blizzard is now under Microsoft, and because of Microsoft Xbox going the way it is, it's dreadful.

Crazy how much 3d printing has come in the last few years. Sad that it's not as easily modifiable though
  • Varine Varine:
I bought an Ender 3 during the pandemic and tinkered with it all the time. Just bought a Sovol, not as easy. I'm trying to make it use a different nozzle because I have a fuck ton of Volcanos, and they use what is basically a modified volcano that is just a smidge longer, and almost every part on this thing needs to be redone to make it work
  • Varine Varine:
Luckily I have a 3d printer for that, I guess. But it's ridiculous. The regular volcanos are 21mm, these Sovol versions are about 23.5mm
  • Varine Varine:
So, 2.5mm longer. But the thing that measures the bed is about 1.5mm above the nozzle, so if I swap it with a volcano then I'm 1mm behind it. So cool, new bracket to swap that, but THEN the fan shroud to direct air at the part is ALSO going to be .5mm to low, and so I need to redo that, but by doing that it is a little bit off where it should be blowing and it's throwing it at the heating block instead of the part, and fuck man
  • Varine Varine:
I didn't realize they designed this entire thing to NOT be modded. I would have just got a fucking Bambu if I knew that, the whole point was I could fuck with this. And no one else makes shit for Sovol so I have to go through them, and they have... interesting pricing models. So I have a new extruder altogether that I'm taking apart and going to just design a whole new one to use my nozzles. Dumb design.
  • Varine Varine:
Can't just buy a new heatblock, you need to get a whole hotend - so block, heater cartridge, thermistor, heatbreak, and nozzle. And they put this fucking paste in there so I can't take the thermistor or cartridge out with any ease, that's 30 dollars. Or you can get the whole extrudor with the direct driver AND that heatblock for like 50, but you still can't get any of it to come apart
  • Varine Varine:
Partsbuilt has individual parts I found but they're expensive. I think I can get bits swapped around and make this work with generic shit though
