Firefall + Beta weekend(Jan 25)

Firefall is an upcoming Free to Play / Free to Download Third or First person MMO developed by Red 5 Studios. Firefall is currently in a closed beta(invitation only) but for this upcoming weekend, January 25, it is opening up to everyone. Firefall takes place in future Brazil. The world has gone throughout many disasters. On the year 2233.36, the world was revenged by a massive asteroid bombardment, which came to be known as the Firefall. Humanity struggled to survive throughout the disaster, which killed a good portion of the human population, but they held on, becoming even more prosperous then they previously were. This eventually lead to the creation of the Arclight on the year 2233.66, the worlds first attempt at faster than light travel. Sadly, it's debut launch was a failure, which was a major part in what happened next. The melding, a lunar anomaly, brought on mainly, by the worlds new dependence on Crystite, an element that fell to earth on the day of the firefall. ​

The melding, has since, taken over the majority of the world. A living black fog, turning humans and whatever else it devours into its minions named the Chosen. Only a small fraction of humans still survive, on the few parts of the world that are not covered by the meld. From here they strive to survive.​

(I know this is an ass backwards version of the lore, and I left out a lot of important topics but bare with me) ​

This game, being that it is still missing a lot of its more important content (it's more of an alpha at this point) it's still incredibly fun. The game, complete with jet boots, resource gathering, gliders(which are so cool) crafting, capturing and defending points/watchtowers/and cities from the chosen, and a decently difficult mini-boss that the players can spawn any time they want, is amazingly fun. I've had more fun in this game then I've had in any other MMO I've played.​

Besides, being a beta, there are plenty of interesting things you can get to by abusing glitches in the map constraints. Like me and my friends getting to the crashed Arclight in the middle of the ocean ​

    Signatures can be edit in your account profile. As for the old stuffs, I'm thinking it's because Blizzard is now under Microsoft, and because of Microsoft Xbox going the way it is, it's dreadful.

    Crazy how much 3d printing has come in the last few years. Sad that it's not as easily modifiable though

    I bought an Ender 3 during the pandemic and tinkered with it all the time. Just bought a Sovol, not as easy. I'm trying to make it use a different nozzle because I have a fuck ton of Volcanos, and they use what is basically a modified volcano that is just a smidge longer, and almost every part on this thing needs to be redone to make it work

    Luckily I have a 3d printer for that, I guess. But it's ridiculous. The regular volcanos are 21mm, these Sovol versions are about 23.5mm

    So, 2.5mm longer. But the thing that measures the bed is about 1.5mm above the nozzle, so if I swap it with a volcano then I'm 1mm behind it. So cool, new bracket to swap that, but THEN the fan shroud to direct air at the part is ALSO going to be .5mm to low, and so I need to redo that, but by doing that it is a little bit off where it should be blowing and it's throwing it at the heating block instead of the part, and fuck man

    I didn't realize they designed this entire thing to NOT be modded. I would have just got a fucking Bambu if I knew that, the whole point was I could fuck with this. And no one else makes shit for Sovol so I have to go through them, and they have... interesting pricing models. So I have a new extruder altogether that I'm taking apart and going to just design a whole new one to use my nozzles. Dumb design.

    Can't just buy a new heatblock, you need to get a whole hotend - so block, heater cartridge, thermistor, heatbreak, and nozzle. And they put this fucking paste in there so I can't take the thermistor or cartridge out with any ease, that's 30 dollars. Or you can get the whole extrudor with the direct driver AND that heatblock for like 50, but you still can't get any of it to come apart

    Partsbuilt has individual parts I found but they're expensive. I think I can get bits swapped around and make this work with generic shit though
