How Do I Make Data Values Negative?

Hi, i'm having a rather simplistic problem (atleast i think so)
i'm editing the fan of knives spell, and i'm trying to make the value for
"Level # - Data - Damage Per Target"
a negative value, i'm working in conjunction with a friend of mine, and he's doing something similar and i've seen thats its possible however, when i try to type in "-100" it comes up as 0.

Could somebody please tell me how to make the value a negative.

go to "File" >> "Preferences" and then go to "General" and then check the field "Allow negative values in the Object Editor"

then in the object editor hold shift and pres the field you want to be negative... and then you are able to use negative values..:thup:

In addition, you can hold down SHIFT and double-click on a field value to bypass any limits (ie in Chain Lightning, use this to go over 16 jumps.)
