I want forked lightning to do what the trigger should do:S Though it is not working, I might have done something wrong with the ability forked lightning, not sure:S Trigger:
Trigger:
  • Event
    • Unit - A unit begins casting an ability
    • Condition
    • Level of ability being cast greater than 0
    • Ability being cast equal to (Unholy Lightning
    • Action
    • Lightning - Create a Lightning effect from trigger unit to (unit of (target of ability being cast))
    • Unit - Cause Triggering unit to damage (Unit of (target of ability being cast)), dealing (0.3 x (real(Intelligence of (triggering unit))) damage of attack type equal to (Spells) and damage type equal to (Magic)

Help me out guys>.< All answers are highly appreciated:)

1st use starts the effect of an ability
2nd i don't see how can someone cast an ability if his level is not greater than 0, condition is needless
3rd you should remove the lightning effect afterwards

If you want Forked Lightning to only hit one target you can just change the data field in forked lightning named "Data - Number of targets hit" to 1.

I know that I can do it in the object editor... but there are 100 levels and I will not do every single level. Second, I will remove the condition also remove the Light effect, If it matters the Light effect is Drain mana:S Who is triggering unit? My floating text says zero so I guess it aint working correctly:S

Sorry, had to (Attacking unit)

you can easily do all 100 levels (at least for the numeber of targets but as it seems you want dmg to be based on the intellect, i FULLY support you, why should attackers have an advantage of getting dmg from gear while casters dont....

In any case you can do it the way i told you, should work

It is working kind of good:S Though I got a problem:S

I am making a floating text with this function:

Trigger:
  • Floating text - Create floating text reading (String(Intelligence of(Casting unit))(Include Bonuses) x (Integer(0.7)) + (!!!!) at (Position of (Target unit of ability being cast))

Though it only displays: 0!!!!
Also tried: Int of Triggering unit and Int of Attacking unit. Still displaying zero:O

Autofill? Does it set the level thing to 100 damage only or does it increase:S Since otherwise it is quite useless:S And I believe that Intelligence is the perfect thing to create spell damage:)

Your problem is in the x(Integer(0.7)). Decimals are always rounded down for integers in WC3, so you are multiplying by 0. Do the multiplication within a Convert Real to Integer command.

omg... why did I not figure that out... I know the difference of integers and reals.....
Mate I have set it to: Convert real to integer, that was the thing it was set from all the time, it still says: (integer(0.7)) messed up, and it still displays 0, No wait another problem, just changed the (integer to string) to (real to string) but then I can't retrieve the int attribute. It was possible to convert real to string, then integer to real:) So that is solved:S Now how to make it attack multiple targets, was thinking maybe attack 0.2 x targets of the ability level:S
