How it works the Mana Shield??

Hello,
I have a doubt with the mana shield ability, in the field Level.. - Data - Mana per Hit Point... if i use 3 of value that means that when someone deal a damage of 10 the mana will be decreased by 30?? becouse it doesn't work me like that....

3 hit point's = 1 mana

value set to 10

10 hit point's = 1 mana
