>>>Quick trigger shit<<<

Just a tip to anyone who reads this:

Your thread title should explain your problem in five words, maximum.

Like in the English grammar tests where you have to fill in the blanks using up to five words.

Short, but descriptive is the key.

I think the biggest problem with people reducing their thread titles to 5 words or less is that you do end up with these generic titles. Most people don't know enough about their problem or how to explain it sufficiently in 5 words that it just ends up somewhere between non-descriptive and semi-retarded.

This is a war that the forum can't win lol :p

Does that justify posting a thread title like "omg need help"?

(That was three words long...)

No it doesn't, but we can't expect everyone to be perfect. We can, however expect them to use common sense. <-- (Something some don't even have...)

I am not expecting everyone to be perfect, especially on forums, in teh internets.

I'm just saying one should think more than 5 seconds before posting a thread.

Touche, but sometimes people do things without thinking :/ It's the way things are. We just have to deal with it [del]if[/del] when it happens.

I think its a good move that if your title is vague, make up for it by making the first sentence a clear outline of your problem. You can view the beginning of a thread from the WE help forum just by hovering over the topic.

Bad titles don't stop me from checking out a problem if the hover info clues me in to what the problem is about.

Way to go, Ace. Now, if only people would read this before posting....

On a related note, any thread found to be in violation will be at the mercy of the moderator who finds said thread. Don't say I didn't warn you.

The ones that annoy me the most is the "Ability Help" (And similiar) titles.
This could be anything from needing an idea, to having an Object Editor problem or just a simple Trigger Issue.
Perhaps adding them to the glorious list would help?
Anyway, thanks for making this, hopefully it would help.

Hahaha those last ones made me LOL, it's funny because it's true i've seen quite a few people expect help when they call the people they're asking help for things like that.

"that guy started first"? What? That's not spam...

Anyways, the people who need to read this never do. A valiant attempt but in vain it is.

There are always people posting threads with these titles. Though, I've never seen anyone posting this:

Code:
- What the fuck are you shitters waiting for to do my map this instant, fucking assholes

- Quick trigger shit
- HELP! EXTREMELY URGENT!!!

Maybe combine those to "Quick urgent shit", "Urgent shit help" or maybe "Extremely urgent shit"?

Maybe we can add the following to this list, since they pop up all the time:

- Quick spell help
- Need help with spell
- Basic trigger help
- Need ability help
- Help with a spell
- Simple ability question
- Quick question about spell

I'd be happy if the forum could filter out those titles upon submitting new threads, and change the text of the title to something like "I'm a faggot"

Signatures can be edit in your account profile. As for the old stuffs, I'm thinking it's because Blizzard is now under Microsoft, and because of Microsoft Xbox going the way it is, it's dreadful.

@tom_mai78101 I must be blind. If I go on my profile I don't see any area to edit the signature; If I go to account details (settings) I don't see any signature area either.

You can get there if you click the bell icon (alerts) and choose preferences from the bottom, signature will be in the menu on the left there https://www.thehelper.net/account/preferences

Crazy how much 3d printing has come in the last few years. Sad that it's not as easily modifiable though
  • Varine Varine:
I bought an Ender 3 during the pandemic and tinkered with it all the time. Just bought a Sovol, not as easy. I'm trying to make it use a different nozzle because I have a fuck ton of Volcanos, and they use what is basically a modified volcano that is just a smidge longer, and almost every part on this thing needs to be redone to make it work
  • Varine Varine:
Luckily I have a 3d printer for that, I guess. But it's ridiculous. The regular volcanos are 21mm, these Sovol versions are about 23.5mm
  • Varine Varine:
So, 2.5mm longer. But the thing that measures the bed is about 1.5mm above the nozzle, so if I swap it with a volcano then I'm 1mm behind it. So cool, new bracket to swap that, but THEN the fan shroud to direct air at the part is ALSO going to be .5mm to low, and so I need to redo that, but by doing that it is a little bit off where it should be blowing and it's throwing it at the heating block instead of the part, and fuck man
  • Varine Varine:
I didn't realize they designed this entire thing to NOT be modded. I would have just got a fucking Bambu if I knew that, the whole point was I could fuck with this. And no one else makes shit for Sovol so I have to go through them, and they have... interesting pricing models. So I have a new extruder altogether that I'm taking apart and going to just design a whole new one to use my nozzles. Dumb design.
  • Varine Varine:
Can't just buy a new heatblock, you need to get a whole hotend - so block, heater cartridge, thermistor, heatbreak, and nozzle. And they put this fucking paste in there so I can't take the thermistor or cartridge out with any ease, that's 30 dollars. Or you can get the whole extrudor with the direct driver AND that heatblock for like 50, but you still can't get any of it to come apart
  • Varine Varine:
Partsbuilt has individual parts I found but they're expensive. I think I can get bits swapped around and make this work with generic shit though
