I tryed to make myself a loading screen using this toturial but I got no mdx file! Tell me whats wrong:
I download a picture from here:www.blizzard.com/inblizz/fanart/ScreenShot.aspx?ImageIndex=322&Set=0
Opened Irfanview: Resized it exactly as I saw in "Picutre1" (My picture is 12 pixxels short than recommanded, shud I set it to one of the "standart dimensions"?)
Saved as TGA and opened warcraft viewer opened the tga file and saved as BLP it even asked me to do the alpha channel just like it said in the toturial, anyway saved and quit...
Now I got three files: JPG, TGA and BLP..... where is exactly the .MDX? :banghead:

So, basicly you say I need to download the "loadingscreen.mdx" (i want the less big one because of space) and then import it and the blp and all done? Does it matter what my BLP file name? or only path important? and if my picture is 9 pixels less than recommand its important?

path=filename in this case. the filename before importing is never really important since its overridden by the path.

very. as a matter of fact i think it wouldn't work if there's a 1 pixel difference...
so 512x512 is a must size for that mdx.

And will it be ok if I resize it with irfan?

And what if the file(im sure its tga) has an unsupported compression when I try to convert it? :mad:

GIMP says that to me when I save anything with more than one layer. I just click "okay" and it seemingly has no effect.

@SFilip-
Is it alright if I copy the Loading Screen Importing for RoC part of your tutorial for my "Expanding the RoC editor" tutorial? I will, of course, credit you for it, and give a link to this tutorial in that part.

nvm i got the LoadingSceen.mdx as a model now :eek: ... but it still shows up blank... when i test it. :confused: (i went to senerio and changed the thing so it said LoadingScreen.mdx and checked imported file....

Dunno really, is your image the proper size? Is it BLP? Is the path OK? Could you attach your map so that I can check it out.

Np, you can use it. However I recommend that you test it out first. Actually I'd appreciate if you also let me know about the results since it isn't tested enough.

Wait, did you read the tutorial at all? First of all your path is wrong, you seem to be using the wrong mdx (didn't have the time to check) and your picture (whichever of the two it is) seems to be of inproper size (again not checked).

Hi, great tutorial! =D

Does anyone knows how to make a custom loading screen skip the "PRESS ANY KEY TO CONTINUE" thing? I do NOT want the need to press any key to continue. DOTA-Allstars is able to do that, I can't find any information on this.

lol goos i found the problem <3

you see your import editor?
rename your loadingscreen2.mdx to loadingscreen.mdx

and then

change the custom path for the loadingscreen.mdx by removing the
war3imported
before: war3imported\LoadingScreen2.mdx
after: LoadingScreen.mdx

edit:

oh ya, remember to convert those tga into blp
because tga is way too big for the memory to handle it within the
lloading screen, i had that problem before <3

The MDX path is completely irrelevant.

    Crazy how much 3d printing has come in the last few years. Sad that it's not as easily modifiable though

    I bought an Ender 3 during the pandemic and tinkered with it all the time. Just bought a Sovol, not as easy. I'm trying to make it use a different nozzle because I have a fuck ton of Volcanos, and they use what is basically a modified volcano that is just a smidge longer, and almost every part on this thing needs to be redone to make it work

    Luckily I have a 3d printer for that, I guess. But it's ridiculous. The regular volcanos are 21mm, these Sovol versions are about 23.5mm

    So, 2.5mm longer. But the thing that measures the bed is about 1.5mm above the nozzle, so if I swap it with a volcano then I'm 1mm behind it. So cool, new bracket to swap that, but THEN the fan shroud to direct air at the part is ALSO going to be .5mm to low, and so I need to redo that, but by doing that it is a little bit off where it should be blowing and it's throwing it at the heating block instead of the part, and fuck man

    I didn't realize they designed this entire thing to NOT be modded. I would have just got a fucking Bambu if I knew that, the whole point was I could fuck with this. And no one else makes shit for Sovol so I have to go through them, and they have... interesting pricing models. So I have a new extruder altogether that I'm taking apart and going to just design a whole new one to use my nozzles. Dumb design.

    Can't just buy a new heatblock, you need to get a whole hotend - so block, heater cartridge, thermistor, heatbreak, and nozzle. And they put this fucking paste in there so I can't take the thermistor or cartridge out with any ease, that's 30 dollars. Or you can get the whole extrudor with the direct driver AND that heatblock for like 50, but you still can't get any of it to come apart

    Partsbuilt has individual parts I found but they're expensive. I think I can get bits swapped around and make this work with generic shit though
