Perhaaaaps perhaaaaps deep inside dark forest exists a program that is able to extract loads of useless models from that map and make it usable again?

I believe WE can open maps of large sizes. I've opened maps of 20MB size without a problem.

Perhaps it's the 'deprotection' that causes the map to be unopenable.
Don't waste your time. Learn things from unprotected maps. They are protected for a reason.

8mb only applies to B.Net as far as I can remember. There are LAN maps that are definitely bigger
and can be played in War3 and opened by the editor. If you have a deprotected map... you didn't
get it from the person that made it because they would've just given you the original unprotected map

You can open a map of any size in the WE. I opened a ~50+ mb map before. Like everyone else said, its the deprotection that is blocking it (for a reason...hint hint).

Maybe the deprotected map is his own map?

Try saving the map with WE, then run Vex's optimizer on it. After the deprotection process the map is usually decompressed and obfuscated (to a degree.)

i think many all of you are misunderstand to think THat map is protected !! But please read carefully. I got that map from other forum and that map is already been Deprotected so i think there is no Protection on that map again. So how to open a map that already been deprotected and exceed 8 MB ?

You need to read everyone's replies carefully. Let me clarify what we have already established.

1. This site does not support deprotection in anyway.

2. Deprotection != Opensource, in other words, if the author of that map gave it to you, obviously it would not be protected, which means that it would not already be deprotected.

3. In case this needs re-emphasizing.... if you got the map from the author, why would it be deprotected? Deprotection means the map was originally protected. which means you got it from a source which does not have the authority to give you permission to open it.

3. You can open a map of any size in the WE. The size of a map has nothing to do with it.

4. If you got the map from another website, why don't you ask them?

WE Unlimited or whatever, there's more than that but that one comes to mind (the more extensive editing programs people have made), can open maps and let you extract whatever data you want. Although I wasn't aware that the normal editor was unable to open maps, I was always under the assumption that was a Battle.net limit as you can easily make maps 100+ megs. You just can't host it.

Or you would open it in an MPQ editor like others have suggested and just take the triggers out and put them in another map. You could technically do that with everything.

As to why you keep saying it's deprotected I don't understand - if it's deprotected, it's just a map. What issues, specifically, are you encountering?

  • tom_mai78101 tom_mai78101:
Signatures can be edit in your account profile. As for the old stuffs, I'm thinking it's because Blizzard is now under Microsoft, and because of Microsoft Xbox going the way it is, it's dreadful.

@tom_mai78101 I must be blind. If I go on my profile I don't see any area to edit the signature; If I go to account details (settings) I don't see any signature area either.

You can get there if you click the bell icon (alerts) and choose preferences from the bottom, signature will be in the menu on the left there https://www.thehelper.net/account/preferences

Crazy how much 3d printing has come in the last few years. Sad that it's not as easily modifiable though
  • Varine Varine:
I bought an Ender 3 during the pandemic and tinkered with it all the time. Just bought a Sovol, not as easy. I'm trying to make it use a different nozzle because I have a fuck ton of Volcanos, and they use what is basically a modified volcano that is just a smidge longer, and almost every part on this thing needs to be redone to make it work
  • Varine Varine:
Luckily I have a 3d printer for that, I guess. But it's ridiculous. The regular volcanos are 21mm, these Sovol versions are about 23.5mm
  • Varine Varine:
So, 2.5mm longer. But the thing that measures the bed is about 1.5mm above the nozzle, so if I swap it with a volcano then I'm 1mm behind it. So cool, new bracket to swap that, but THEN the fan shroud to direct air at the part is ALSO going to be .5mm to low, and so I need to redo that, but by doing that it is a little bit off where it should be blowing and it's throwing it at the heating block instead of the part, and fuck man
  • Varine Varine:
I didn't realize they designed this entire thing to NOT be modded. I would have just got a fucking Bambu if I knew that, the whole point was I could fuck with this. And no one else makes shit for Sovol so I have to go through them, and they have... interesting pricing models. So I have a new extruder altogether that I'm taking apart and going to just design a whole new one to use my nozzles. Dumb design.
  • Varine Varine:
Can't just buy a new heatblock, you need to get a whole hotend - so block, heater cartridge, thermistor, heatbreak, and nozzle. And they put this fucking paste in there so I can't take the thermistor or cartridge out with any ease, that's 30 dollars. Or you can get the whole extrudor with the direct driver AND that heatblock for like 50, but you still can't get any of it to come apart
  • Varine Varine:
Partsbuilt has individual parts I found but they're expensive. I think I can get bits swapped around and make this work with generic shit though
