items in diablo 1

I have problems when i try to drop items in areas. After i drop a few items I have a problem dropping anymore items near it. What should I do.

uh.. you have to move over so you have more space on the ground

I already moved a few spots over so what should i do then

In Diablo1, you can unload items to the 8 spaces surrounding where you stand plus the one space your character stands on.

If all of the 8 spaces surrounding your character are used as well as the one you are standing on, move 3 spaces over and start dropping items again.
