Monitor Problems?

Hi, i was wondering if someone had a solution to a problem i have?

Until recently i have been running fine on my Nvidia Geforce 8600GTS PCI-Ex16 card, what happened is.... Suddenly the monitor doesn't (or stopped) display(ing) it, well that was what i thought at first, but upon plugging the monitor to my built-in onboard nvidia 6100 everything seems to work.
I tried using a different monitor with my 8600GTS but no difference, it's as if the motherboard doesn't detect the card, it starts up (power is running to the card and the fan is spinning) but nothing...

I tried taking the Pc to a repair shop and it works fine there, all dandy and stuff so i figured it had to be my wires or the monitor, even so the fact that i used 2 different monitors (that btw both work with my built-in onboard card) should prove the wires/monitors innocent.

So after this whole sauce of (useless) info can anyone determine what is wrong?

I would see if the video card is in properly.

It is in perfectly, fitted etc... I had the guys at the workshop make sure of that, as far as i know it worked there, saw it with my own eyes so its definitely not the card.

i don't see how a wall outlet could change anything, power is on the monitor, the orange thingy.... But it doesnt go green.

Also dno if this helps but it seems the computer is taking longer than usual to get the " ok beep" about 20 seconds... which is ridiculously long.

Just go in and make sure everything is firmly attached, and try a differenty wall outlet.

The problem has nothing to do with the power, but i think i isolated it to the monitor converter (switch from normal to high speed, that thing that connects the monitor to the Video card)
they seems to be the only things that seem to fail me.

I tried 2 different ones and they both seem to be broken, cus at the video shop they were using different wires and monitors, and since i have tested different items and sorts this seems to be the only thing left, I'll probably go and get new ones tomorrow and see how it works out.

Oh and i have the latest drivers :3

The computer takes longer to make the ok beep and you don't see how that can have with the power to do:nuts:

First thing you are going to do is test plugging into a different outlet.

I for one have lost 5 powersupplies, 1 display, 2ram-memories and 8HDDs beacuse of a faulty power-outlet:eek: I am currently stealing power from my sis with a 20meter long extention cord beacuse I am to lazy to have a look at my faulty outlet:p

You see, there is two things coming out of the outlet, voltage that should be either on a steady 230V or a 110V(I think it is in US and GB) depending on your country.
Then there is the current, which should be able to output cuite a lot for a comp actually. That should not be meassured without a proper device btw.

I got two guesses on the symptoms you are describing:
1. Your display is broken.
2. Your outlet cannot output enought current to run the comp.

Ways to find out:
1. Try your display on another comp.
2. Try it in another outlet.

Hmm, how do I change my signature?

Signatures can be edit in your account profile. As for the old stuffs, I'm thinking it's because Blizzard is now under Microsoft, and because of Microsoft Xbox going the way it is, it's dreadful.

@tom_mai78101 I must be blind. If I go on my profile I don't see any area to edit the signature; If I go to account details (settings) I don't see any signature area either.

Crazy how much 3d printing has come in the last few years. Sad that it's not as easily modifiable though
  • Varine Varine:
I bought an Ender 3 during the pandemic and tinkered with it all the time. Just bought a Sovol, not as easy. I'm trying to make it use a different nozzle because I have a fuck ton of Volcanos, and they use what is basically a modified volcano that is just a smidge longer, and almost every part on this thing needs to be redone to make it work
  • Varine Varine:
Luckily I have a 3d printer for that, I guess. But it's ridiculous. The regular volcanos are 21mm, these Sovol versions are about 23.5mm
  • Varine Varine:
So, 2.5mm longer. But the thing that measures the bed is about 1.5mm above the nozzle, so if I swap it with a volcano then I'm 1mm behind it. So cool, new bracket to swap that, but THEN the fan shroud to direct air at the part is ALSO going to be .5mm to low, and so I need to redo that, but by doing that it is a little bit off where it should be blowing and it's throwing it at the heating block instead of the part, and fuck man
  • Varine Varine:
I didn't realize they designed this entire thing to NOT be modded. I would have just got a fucking Bambu if I knew that, the whole point was I could fuck with this. And no one else makes shit for Sovol so I have to go through them, and they have... interesting pricing models. So I have a new extruder altogether that I'm taking apart and going to just design a whole new one to use my nozzles. Dumb design.
  • Varine Varine:
Can't just buy a new heatblock, you need to get a whole hotend - so block, heater cartridge, thermistor, heatbreak, and nozzle. And they put this fucking paste in there so I can't take the thermistor or cartridge out with any ease, that's 30 dollars. Or you can get the whole extrudor with the direct driver AND that heatblock for like 50, but you still can't get any of it to come apart
  • Varine Varine:
Partsbuilt has individual parts I found but they're expensive. I think I can get bits swapped around and make this work with generic shit though
