Moon-glaive style ability

I'm in trouble to make an hero spell, it's look like moon glaive ability(hunter ability), it makes the atack of the hero strike aditionals units. And I did the following things:
- Make the ability moon glaive a hero ability and disativate de techtree requiriments... Doesn't work.
- Create a new ability based in the barrage ability. Doesn't work
- Make the barrage fits on the hero, changing the art model to the atack tipe of the hero... Doesn't work..

Plz help me to do that..
I'm thinking to do something like that, a passive spell, with 5 levels, each level
the number of aditional strike up too... For example lvl 1 strike 1 aditional unit,
Lvl 2 strike 2 aditionals unites...
Any ideas or sugestions are welcome..

If you want it as a bouncing attack (like moon glavie) this is how you must do it;

Change the moon glavie ability to a hero ability and add 5 levels, as you said.

Now whats really makes the effect of the ability is the upgrade Moon Glavie, so make an upgrade with 5 levels, effect: Attack Target count bonus with 1 extra target at level 1, 2 extra targets at level 2, etc. Also remember to add this upgrade to your hero's Upgrades Used field.

Finally, make a trigger something like this:

Trigger:
  • Moon glavie hero ability
    • Events
      • Unit - A unit Learns a skill
    • Conditions
      • (Learned Hero Skill) Equal to Bouncing attack
    • Actions
      • Player - Set the current research level of Bouncing attack to (Level of Bouncing attack for (Learning Hero)) for (Owner of (Learning Hero))


If you want to work like barrage, do it nearly the same, but that effect from the Upgrade is more complicated.

You only need to make triggers for spells who's effects aren't default to the world editor.

Examples of Default effects:
Extra Damage
Shards of damage raining from sky
Any abilities that can be used in melee maps.

Examples of Triggered Effects:
Sword That casts a spell on you or opponent every X attacks
Blink to Target, attack, blink back.
Explosions everywhere around hero.

Necrach, maybe i'm doing something wrong. I try to do that u said but nothing
happens again.
You uses a custom condition right?
And I don't find this "bouncing attack".
That upgrade u have said, i need to go to tab upgrade and make 5 upgrades,
right? 'Cause if i make one upgrade I can't add more number of atacked units.
Help me again plzz..

One more question, I'll need JASS to do that spell? If yes i'm lost, 'cause
i don't know anything about that yet..

You shouldn't require JASS. Bouncing attack is both the name of the ability and the upgrade. Create the upgrade and it should (Does this for some upgrades) Create the ability as well. Set the level of upgrades to as many levels as you want the ability to have. Then, edit the 'Data-Effect 1- Attack Target Bonus - Increment' to the number of extra bounces you want per level.

sry for not explaining so well, the Bouncing attack upgrade is a costum one I made especially for helping you with a code.

and as Joccaren said, you could add several levels to an upgrade, with more bounce targets on each level :)

I tried to follow this thread and got no results. I copied the stock moon glaive ability, and made it a hero ability. I, then, enabled the required upgrade via this trigger:

Yet I get no bouncing. Can I not use the stock moon glaive upgrade? Even when I used the upgrade off the demo map I got no results.

I thought I had to give the ability (the hero can learn it), and then enable the upgrade (the trigger above). Am I missing something obvious?

O.k. Please create another thread and ask for help as using this thread may count as thread highjacking. Also, have you set the base target count bonus to 1?
