I don't know how many times I have purged and reinstalled this damned program but it just will not start.

I have tried
  • Installing MySQL alone
  • Installing MySQL through XAMPP
  • Installing MySQL through Wampserver

Every time I go to start it, I get an error. Then when it does somehow start, without an error, I go to load my database in SQLyog and it tells me:
#2003 - The server is not responding

I have tried everything. I even tried starting it through cmd.exe with "net start MySQL" and "net stop MySQL"; nothing.

I just reformatted my computer with XP Home, updated to SP3, installed all drivers, updated the .NET Framework to 3.5 SP1.

I'm outta ideas, been at it for 4 hours now. Any help will be appreciated.

Are you running it through Apache server?

I'm running MySQL in conjunction with Apache, not through it.

EDIT::
I got it to work 100% once, then I had to restart my computer due to a new program being installed. I think that was fluke though.

Is it definately MySQL and not Apache?

It's 100% MySQL errors.

I've reinstalled with 3 different versions, going down to 5.0 versions. The service gets stuck at "Starting" and/or "Pending Starting".

I've reinstalled with no web server on my computer and nothing else running.

Is your firewall blocking it? (I don't know if this would stop it from starting)

Both Anti-virus and firewall are turned off.

EDIT::

Starting Error:
Code:
C:\>net start wampmysqld
The wampmysqld service is starting....................
The wampmysqld service could not be started.

More help is available by typing NET HELPMSG 3523.

C:\>net helpmsg 3523

The *** service could not be started.

Stopping Error (Ran immediately after starting):
Code:
C:\>net stop wampmysqld
The requested pause or stop is not valid for this service.

More help is available by typing NET HELPMSG 2191.

C:\>net helpmsg 2191

The requested pause or stop is not valid for this service.

No error messages are saved in the MySQL error log. Both of these errors are continuous throughout all the installations I've attempted.

HOWEVER! When I go to start the service, the process is created, but is not destroyed upon failure to start the service. The only way to end the process is to go into Task Manager and end the process "mysqld.exe". Otherwise you'll get an error stating the service is already started.

I've tried installing stand-alone (first post I made). It still produces the same errors.

I've been searching Google/MySQL.com for the past few hours and still can't find a solution that works for me. All the 'solutions' were apparently patched into the current release, but the version I'm installing still carries this bug...

How about trying a version (5.xx) that has a fix for the bug, or just to see if the bug still occurs.

All the versions I have tried to install are the newest release, meaning it has the patch, except when I purposely went down to 5.0 to see if that would work.

Did you get the same error with 5.0?

(And yes I got same error with 5.0. Also said in a previous post)

Signatures can be edit in your account profile. As for the old stuffs, I'm thinking it's because Blizzard is now under Microsoft, and because of Microsoft Xbox going the way it is, it's dreadful.

@tom_mai78101 I must be blind. If I go on my profile I don't see any area to edit the signature; If I go to account details (settings) I don't see any signature area either.

You can get there if you click the bell icon (alerts) and choose preferences from the bottom, signature will be in the menu on the left there https://www.thehelper.net/account/preferences

Crazy how much 3d printing has come in the last few years. Sad that it's not as easily modifiable though
  • Varine Varine:
I bought an Ender 3 during the pandemic and tinkered with it all the time. Just bought a Sovol, not as easy. I'm trying to make it use a different nozzle because I have a fuck ton of Volcanos, and they use what is basically a modified volcano that is just a smidge longer, and almost every part on this thing needs to be redone to make it work
  • Varine Varine:
Luckily I have a 3d printer for that, I guess. But it's ridiculous. The regular volcanos are 21mm, these Sovol versions are about 23.5mm
  • Varine Varine:
So, 2.5mm longer. But the thing that measures the bed is about 1.5mm above the nozzle, so if I swap it with a volcano then I'm 1mm behind it. So cool, new bracket to swap that, but THEN the fan shroud to direct air at the part is ALSO going to be .5mm to low, and so I need to redo that, but by doing that it is a little bit off where it should be blowing and it's throwing it at the heating block instead of the part, and fuck man
  • Varine Varine:
I didn't realize they designed this entire thing to NOT be modded. I would have just got a fucking Bambu if I knew that, the whole point was I could fuck with this. And no one else makes shit for Sovol so I have to go through them, and they have... interesting pricing models. So I have a new extruder altogether that I'm taking apart and going to just design a whole new one to use my nozzles. Dumb design.
  • Varine Varine:
Can't just buy a new heatblock, you need to get a whole hotend - so block, heater cartridge, thermistor, heatbreak, and nozzle. And they put this fucking paste in there so I can't take the thermistor or cartridge out with any ease, that's 30 dollars. Or you can get the whole extrudor with the direct driver AND that heatblock for like 50, but you still can't get any of it to come apart
  • Varine Varine:
Partsbuilt has individual parts I found but they're expensive. I think I can get bits swapped around and make this work with generic shit though
