(Not So) Healing Spray

How do I make a Healing Spray ability which damages enemies in an area instead of healing the units? I tried setting the Damage values to negative: didn't work. I tried changing the Damage Cap to negative: also didn't work. What the crap is wrong? I don't understand why the ability has Data - Damage Amount when the ability is supposed to heal. :nuts:

I know it sounds obvious, but make sure you have your targets worked out.

As for why it has Data - Damage Amount, the editor is retarded like that. Howl of Terror uses like Defense Increase or Attack Increase when really its DECREASE.

Aside from checking targets, I would experiement a little more with the cap and the damage amount. Make the damage amount negative but cap positive, try both negative and finally try cap negative with amount positive.

I'm still fiddling, and my targets allowed are [air,enemies,ground,neutral], which should work. But it seems rediculous to put negative values in a Data - Damage Amount when you want to damage a target . . . I think the editor makers put data like that in just to annoy people like me -.-

use cluster rocket and change the missle art?
or blizzard?
i think cluster rocket, simply changed the arts would do the work Oo

Healing Spray is hardcoded to only effect allies. Like Thunderclap can only effect enemies.

but jaz.. Healing spray Hits EVERYONE, Enemy, Neutral, Allied, thats why its not such a great move in a real ladder game

I'm not choosing Cluster Rockets because it has a stun time which is yucky, even at 0.01 stun time. I have looked at Blizzard, but it would be hard to create the same effect of waves of missiles coming from the caster. It seems logical to simply use Healing Spray, changing the art to what I want, and giving it negative healing. So far I haven't had luck making this ability though. . .

Blizzard wouldn't change anyways.. missle art don't work well with it.. i've tried.. meh i shouldn't have suggested that
make a custom buff for cluster rocket? have it do nothing? so you don't see the stun effect.. and .01
i doubt anyone will notice, you could always use a spell for damage, then use healing spray on a hidden caster to show the effect? with 0 healing though?

'sigh this is becoming more complicated than i wanted. But i think my idea is good so maybe you can help me find a way to make it work . . . with minimum triggering, as I'm trying to cut back on trigger abilities to an average of 1 triggered ability per hero.

My idea is Flamethrower. An AOE spell with waves which damage everyone hit by the fire. I want the spell to be channeling with waves of fire coming from the caster.

My original plan was to base it off Healing Spray with negative values. But seeing as that probably can't work, the only other alternate would be to make a Blizzard Spell with no effect/art. Then make a dummy Healing spray ability for art using a dummy caster. But I don't think the two abilities would coordinate damage/waves of fire very well.

Oh opps. I don't play ladder so I wouldn't know. Guess it's hardcoded to clean anything.

i think they'res a way to make aerial shackles look like a flame thrower.. ive done it before.. >> meh gl man, i've really no clue, other way seems really complicated

Does cluster rockets really even need a buff? Can't you just remove it? I think I've done something like that before. And Blizzard DOESN'T work? The only thing I would see need to be changed it the art!! (Why did God make Blizzard make things so complicated?)

I don't believe you can remove the stun from Cluster Rockets, which would make my move Flamethrower unrealistic (in my eyes). I don't think the targets should be stunned when hit by fire. Also, the problem with Blizzard is it creates waves at the targeted area. I want to create waves coming from the caster to the target area, like flames from a Flamethrower. But seeing how Blizzard likes to make things complicated, I guess I'll have to use dummys . . . Please though, if you think of a better way post!

either change the cluster rocket stun time to 0 or make a trigger. i think there is a "damage" trigger lol :D

if you set a stun time to 0, the game treats it as infinate, therefore making your unit stunned forever.

The Space Fel Orc has a flamethrower attack.

It damages in waves...
It is AOE...
The art can be changed to a flamethrowerlike thing...

Use the healing spray ability and have it do nothing then have a dummy unit be created at targeted casting area and have the dummy unit do the wanted damage

    I bought an Ender 3 during the pandemic and tinkered with it all the time. Just bought a Sovol, not as easy. I'm trying to make it use a different nozzle because I have a fuck ton of Volcanos, and they use what is basically a modified volcano that is just a smidge longer, and almost every part on this thing needs to be redone to make it work

So cool, new bracket to swap that, but THEN the fan shroud to direct air at the part is ALSO going to be .5mm to low, and so I need to redo that, but by doing that it is a little bit off where it should be blowing and it's throwing it at the heating block instead of the part, and fuck man

    Can't just buy a new heatblock, you need to get a whole hotend - so block, heater cartridge, thermistor, heatbreak, and nozzle. And they put this fucking paste in there so I can't take the thermistor or cartridge out with any ease, that's 30 dollars. Or you can get the whole extrudor with the direct driver AND that heatblock for like 50, but you still can't get any of it to come apart
