Questions on function Damage Target

So, a couple of questions on

JASS:
native UnitDamageTarget takes unit whichUnit, widget target, real amount, boolean attack, boolean ranged, attacktype attackType, damagetype damageType, weapontype weaponType returns boolean

If boolean attack is true, does it count as proper attack damage from the damaging unit?? If so, so any affects that would be placed by the damaging units normal attacks be applied to the damaged unit??

And what does boolean ranged do?? I can (obviously) tell that it sets the damage to count as ranged, but what does that really mean?? Does it count as a ranged attack, or as something else??

Be really good if ppl could help :)

//! speculative

i think it does mean it is registered as an attack, and certain abilities (cleave, vampiric aura, etc) require a melee attack, and others (i think ice arrows/fire arrows) require ranged

//! endspeculative
:p

Actually no, nothing stated on this thread is true.
The unit damage target native is not related to the unit's auto attack damage whatsoever.
Those booleans don't work

KK Ty, so it doesn't count as an attack... Taht means that cleave passive wouldn't affect the damage if the damaging unit had cleave??

Also, in GUI, the damage target unit function has a range limit, if the damaging unit and the target are too far away from each other, the target doesn't get damaged.

Is this range issue also true for this native (unitdamagetarget)????

i hadnt used them before thats why it was speculative, so far havent had a use for them... it is kind of a bummer how incomplete the world editor is though :(
I never realized there was a range for the damage target unit and im well versed in gui, are you sure that is true, and if it is true, why not just used a dummy unit placed at that target and just damage them via the dummy... if there is a range on both that is

I use it for alot in my map like falling damage and projectile collision in my map.

This is my BulletHit Function:
JASS:
function Col_BulletHit takes nothing returns nothing
local Collision C1 = CurrentC1
local Collision C2 =CurrentC2
local Object O1 = C1.M.O
local Object O2 = C2.M.O
local unit P1 = C1.M.P.Unit
local unit P2 = C2.M.P.Unit
local boolean Match = false
local boolean Col = true
call DestroyEffect(AddSpecialEffect("Abilities\\Weapons\\BloodElfMissile\\BloodElfMissile.mdl",GetUnitX(P1),GetUnitY(P1)))
//----------------------------------
call UnitDamageTargetBJ(P1, P2, 50, ATTACK_TYPE_MELEE, DAMAGE_TYPE_NORMAL)
//----------------------------------
call RemoveUnit(P1)
if (Col==false) then
return
endif
set P1 = null
set P2 = null
endfunction

i haven't had any issues with it. But would like to know if there is a range limit...

    Signatures can be edit in your account profile. As for the old stuffs, I'm thinking it's because Blizzard is now under Microsoft, and because of Microsoft Xbox going the way it is, it's dreadful.

    @tom_mai78101 I must be blind. If I go on my profile I don't see any area to edit the signature; If I go to account details (settings) I don't see any signature area either.

    Crazy how much 3d printing has come in the last few years. Sad that it's not as easily modifiable though
  • Varine Varine:
    I bought an Ender 3 during the pandemic and tinkered with it all the time. Just bought a Sovol, not as easy. I'm trying to make it use a different nozzle because I have a fuck ton of Volcanos, and they use what is basically a modified volcano that is just a smidge longer, and almost every part on this thing needs to be redone to make it work
  • Varine Varine:
    Luckily I have a 3d printer for that, I guess. But it's ridiculous. The regular volcanos are 21mm, these Sovol versions are about 23.5mm
  • Varine Varine:
    So, 2.5mm longer. But the thing that measures the bed is about 1.5mm above the nozzle, so if I swap it with a volcano then I'm 1mm behind it. So cool, new bracket to swap that, but THEN the fan shroud to direct air at the part is ALSO going to be .5mm to low, and so I need to redo that, but by doing that it is a little bit off where it should be blowing and it's throwing it at the heating block instead of the part, and fuck man
  • Varine Varine:
    I didn't realize they designed this entire thing to NOT be modded. I would have just got a fucking Bambu if I knew that, the whole point was I could fuck with this. And no one else makes shit for Sovol so I have to go through them, and they have... interesting pricing models. So I have a new extruder altogether that I'm taking apart and going to just design a whole new one to use my nozzles. Dumb design.
  • Varine Varine:
    Can't just buy a new heatblock, you need to get a whole hotend - so block, heater cartridge, thermistor, heatbreak, and nozzle. And they put this fucking paste in there so I can't take the thermistor or cartridge out with any ease, that's 30 dollars. Or you can get the whole extrudor with the direct driver AND that heatblock for like 50, but you still can't get any of it to come apart
  • Varine Varine:
    Partsbuilt has individual parts I found but they're expensive. I think I can get bits swapped around and make this work with generic shit though
