Adamantium, bolognium, dilithium. Element Zero, Kryptonite. Mythril, Netherite, Orichalcum, Unobtanium. We love the idea of fictional elements with miraculous properties that science has yet to discover. But is it really possible that new elements exist beyond the periodic table?

Making mezcal is really hard work. Mexican producers harvest agave by hand and cook it in giant, earthen ovens. Then they crush it using a 1,000-pound, horse-drawn stone and distill it in copper pots. Despite all this effort, Mexican producers aren’t making the big bucks, even though demand for the spirit is booming. While Mexican regulations do require mezcal to be made in Mexico, that hasn't stopped large, international companies from scooping up mezcal supplies, repackaging, and reselling bottles for huge profits abroad. And the only organization that can stand in the way, the mezcal certifying agency COMERCAM, has faced claims of favoritism of these large companies. This has left some century-old mezcal brands frustrated and fearful that their ancestral ways of making mezcal are at risk. So, there's a growing trend of brands leaving the certified industry and choosing to call their brands "distilled agave" instead of mezcal.

Video of an ore processor YouTuber working on samples from the Cerro Gordo Ghost Town mine. Very interesting especially the first part where they extract it from the abandoned Cerro Gordo mine.

A. Definition of Sedna Planet Sedna is a distant and mysterious world located in the outer reaches of our Solar System. It is the most distant known object in the Solar System and has been classified as a dwarf planet. It was discovered in 2003 by Michael E. Brown, who later named it “Sedna” after the Inuit goddess of the sea, Sidne. Sedna is believed to be the remnant of the Early Solar System. Exactly two decades later, Sedna has again caught the limelight of astronomers all around the World. Due to its mysterious nature, Sedna has always confused astronomers until now. Sedna is a dwarf planet by the International Astronomical Union (IAU). It was officially classified as a dwarf planet in 2008, making it the third object recognised by the IAU. It is located beyond the orbit of Neptune and is believed to be part of the Kuiper Belt, a region of icy bodies beyond the orbit of Neptune. B. Overview of Sedna's discovery The discovery of Sedna has significantly impacted the field of astronomy and astrophysics. Sedna is the most distant object ever observed in the Solar System, and its discovery has provided scientists with valuable insights into the formation and evolution of the outer Solar System. Sedna's discovery has also helped to confirm the existence of the hypothesised Oort Cloud, a vast spherical shell of icy objects that surrounds the Solar System. Sedna's orbit is highly eccentric, and its perihelion is much farther from the Sun than any other known object in the Solar System.

In this platinum documentary, we explore platinum mining, science, history, and the future outlook for this truly unique commodity. As one of the lesser known, but nonetheless vital precious metals, platinum has a long history of being used for jewelry and ornamentation, reaching back to the ancient Egyptian empire, having been discovered on a coffin unearthed in Thebes, estimated to be from the 7th century BC. Modern day uses of platinum include being a key element in catalytic converters for vehicles , as a catalyst in the chemical industry, and even in the creation of life-saving anti-cancer drugs.

In August of 2017 I made my first adobe brick. A few months later I had made at least 170 adobe bricks and used them to construct a strong adobe hut with a thatched roof. During the following three years I worked on many bushcraft projects to improve the quality of life at the adobe hut while exploring survival skills of native peoples. This is the final video featuring this adobe hut. It is a compilation of almost ever project that I filmed at the hut. While this chapter of the adventure ends, I am embarking on a new adventure and I invite you to follow along this exciting journey as I seek to establish a new and better settlement in a different location. I just want to say THANK YOU for these amazing three years. It has been an immense blessing!

Physics progresses by breaking our intuitions, but we’re now at a point where further progress may require us to do away with the most intuitive and seemingly fundamental concepts of all—space and time.

This is not a conspiracy theory. Before the fall of Germany in WWII a large number of Nazi higher ups bailed from Germany to relocate to South America. There are actual areas of South America that consist of the descendents of these refugees and pretty much they live in obscurity. Interesting stuff.

Hmm, how do I change my signature?
  • tom_mai78101 tom_mai78101:
Signatures can be edit in your account profile. As for the old stuffs, I'm thinking it's because Blizzard is now under Microsoft, and because of Microsoft Xbox going the way it is, it's dreadful.

Crazy how much 3d printing has come in the last few years. Sad that it's not as easily modifiable though
  • Varine Varine:
I bought an Ender 3 during the pandemic and tinkered with it all the time. Just bought a Sovol, not as easy. I'm trying to make it use a different nozzle because I have a fuck ton of Volcanos, and they use what is basically a modified volcano that is just a smidge longer, and almost every part on this thing needs to be redone to make it work
  • Varine Varine:
Luckily I have a 3d printer for that, I guess. But it's ridiculous. The regular volcanos are 21mm, these Sovol versions are about 23.5mm
  • Varine Varine:
So, 2.5mm longer. But the thing that measures the bed is about 1.5mm above the nozzle, so if I swap it with a volcano then I'm 1mm behind it. So cool, new bracket to swap that, but THEN the fan shroud to direct air at the part is ALSO going to be .5mm to low, and so I need to redo that, but by doing that it is a little bit off where it should be blowing and it's throwing it at the heating block instead of the part, and fuck man
  • Varine Varine:
I didn't realize they designed this entire thing to NOT be modded. I would have just got a fucking Bambu if I knew that, the whole point was I could fuck with this. And no one else makes shit for Sovol so I have to go through them, and they have... interesting pricing models. So I have a new extruder altogether that I'm taking apart and going to just design a whole new one to use my nozzles. Dumb design.
  • Varine Varine:
Can't just buy a new heatblock, you need to get a whole hotend - so block, heater cartridge, thermistor, heatbreak, and nozzle. And they put this fucking paste in there so I can't take the thermistor or cartridge out with any ease, that's 30 dollars. Or you can get the whole extrudor with the direct driver AND that heatblock for like 50, but you still can't get any of it to come apart
  • Varine Varine:
Partsbuilt has individual parts I found but they're expensive. I think I can get bits swapped around and make this work with generic shit though
  • Ghan Ghan:
