My motherboard bit the dust one day, so I upgraded everything, new board processor, ram, power supply & vid card.
I only had one hard drive With XP Pro installed on it, so during the Windows X64 Pro Install I opted to delete the contents of the window folder and reinstall windows; the idea being that I could keep all my documents cause I had no other spare drives to back them up at the time. So.. same partition, and I didn't format it.
Now the problem I face is that, my previous "Documents and settings" (under C:\Documents and Settings\MyOldAccName) folder still exists on the hard drive but is inaccessable. When I try and open it, I get "access is denied" and if I try and view file properties for the folder it lists 0 files 0 bytes.
So are all my documents still in there somewhere? I only really need my resume out of there. I did a full system search but turned up nothing for my resume
