I would like to ask for your support in my venture to restrict the usage of host-bots on battle.net.

Here is a petition - feel free to read and sign.

So long as DotA exists, host bots shall remain legion.

Im sorry if I have worded my outrage incorrectly, but my main focus is to ban bots from where they dont really belong - Warcraft III reign of chaos. Also, my aim is to stop Bot abuse such as this.

RoCbotsneedtobebanned.jpg

That image depicts about 10 bot hosted games, all unjoinable. This has been going on for days now, these bots constantly re-host and thusly prevent user hosted games from showing up. Atrocities such as this must be put to an end, take a stand and stop bot abuse.

(Suggestions for petition rewording/additions are welcome)

I sure hope bots go away - all they do is make it harder for people to have their games joined. Which is bad - consider their bad sides:

- Bots don't grow on trees, so their owners use them to host the most popular maps
- Bots prevent normally hosted games from being displayed due to their superior automated refreshment system
----------------------------------
- The more popular maps become disproportionately popular, while the peculiar and original maps that get less attention now get nothing

Which is bad for Bnet variety. Not to mention that some people refuse to join just because the game isn't hosted by a bot. Regardless of what the map is.

Restrict the Usage of HostBots on Battle.net

I must say that some bots are necessary, especially on TFT, but on RoC I see no reason to spam bot hosted games that no one will ever join. I miss the days where you can just go on b.net and see your favorite games hosted by well known players. I miss the days where you just could just lol at brazilians for their 200 ms hosting. I miss the days where RoC was bot-free. On frozen throne, the bots are a necessary evil, they are required to host the ever popular DotA and etc. But now, I am sad to say that RoC has Metamorphosed into what TFT has been but without the playerbase. This creates a massive spam of empty bot games that stay empty for hours on end. Please, I only want to "restrict" the usage of host bots, not ban them outright, sign the petition for a better warcraft III today.

Many of these games shown in this image are empty and will remain empty for hours on end, spamming the game room to oblivion and putting off many long standing RoC players.

I'd sign if the petition was extended to TFT. But it's not.

I don't see how it is 'required' to host DotA. It's not even fun.

BTW, TFT is far worse than that. If you actually join the bot games it ALWAYS waits until all spots are filled. Which on average takes at least 15 minutes.

I am sorry if what I have posted may have led you to believe that this is focused on RoC, but the petition is not aimed specifically at RoC or TFT, it is aimed at stopping the Blatant ABUSE of Host-Bots on Battle.net and to stop their Spamming the game room with games that no one join, or even spamming the game room with unjoinable games and advertisements.

Hmm, how do I change my signature?
  • tom_mai78101 tom_mai78101:
Signatures can be edit in your account profile. As for the old stuffs, I'm thinking it's because Blizzard is now under Microsoft, and because of Microsoft Xbox going the way it is, it's dreadful.

I am not big on the recipes I am just promoting them - I use the site as a practice place promoting stuff

@tom_mai78101 I must be blind. If I go on my profile I don't see any area to edit the signature; If I go to account details (settings) I don't see any signature area either.

Crazy how much 3d printing has come in the last few years. Sad that it's not as easily modifiable though
  • Varine Varine:
I bought an Ender 3 during the pandemic and tinkered with it all the time. Just bought a Sovol, not as easy. I'm trying to make it use a different nozzle because I have a fuck ton of Volcanos, and they use what is basically a modified volcano that is just a smidge longer, and almost every part on this thing needs to be redone to make it work
  • Varine Varine:
Luckily I have a 3d printer for that, I guess. But it's ridiculous. The regular volcanos are 21mm, these Sovol versions are about 23.5mm
  • Varine Varine:
So, 2.5mm longer. But the thing that measures the bed is about 1.5mm above the nozzle, so if I swap it with a volcano then I'm 1mm behind it. So cool, new bracket to swap that, but THEN the fan shroud to direct air at the part is ALSO going to be .5mm to low, and so I need to redo that, but by doing that it is a little bit off where it should be blowing and it's throwing it at the heating block instead of the part, and fuck man
  • Varine Varine:
I didn't realize they designed this entire thing to NOT be modded. I would have just got a fucking Bambu if I knew that, the whole point was I could fuck with this. And no one else makes shit for Sovol so I have to go through them, and they have... interesting pricing models. So I have a new extruder altogether that I'm taking apart and going to just design a whole new one to use my nozzles. Dumb design.
  • Varine Varine:
Can't just buy a new heatblock, you need to get a whole hotend - so block, heater cartridge, thermistor, heatbreak, and nozzle. And they put this fucking paste in there so I can't take the thermistor or cartridge out with any ease, that's 30 dollars. Or you can get the whole extrudor with the direct driver AND that heatblock for like 50, but you still can't get any of it to come apart
  • Varine Varine:
Partsbuilt has individual parts I found but they're expensive. I think I can get bits swapped around and make this work with generic shit though
