Lol, looks pretty similar to my tower, the Atomic Tower xD.

I was worried that my idea might have been too similar to yours when I saw the screen shot you posted, but when I looked at the map it was fairly different. Both our towers have charges, but the implementations, attacks and general feel of the towers are different.

It would be intriguing if those two towers could work together to do something as well as work alone. Unfortunately, you don't get bonus points or anything. But it would be interesting.

Oh, ok then, good enough for me :thup:. Crazy how we both thought at similar looking towers xD.

As for Ghan's thought, I'm not into mapping anymore, but, after the contest, if TheDamien wants to submit a resource or something with those towers working along, I don't mind it =/.

OK, here is my submission, "Nucleus Tower":

• Each tower has a number of charges, which replenish.
• When a target is acquired, a charge will be absorbed into the nucleus.
• Once the absorption is complete, a lightning beam will be fired at the target(s).
• The lightning beam causes "bursts" of damage at the location of a targeted unit.
• Towers that are close enough form connections with each other.
• Charges will flow from towers with higher charge counts to towers with lower charge counts, or to attacking towers.
• Tower works best in groups.

In the context of a TD, the tower is designed to be strong in widely spaced networks, against small waves of high HP units and when paired with slowing or stunning towers. It is less effective in tight groups or against streams of fast, low health units. The most effective way to use this tower is to cover a large area with a sparse connected network of towers.

Submission

Result of the Goblins' latest discoveries in technology, the Atomic Tower is a defensive structure that builds up orbs of sun-power that disintegrate passing foes. However, in contrast with the great power of the orbs, their creation process is extremely slow.

Notes:
​

• In the video, the orb creation is much faster, just so the presentation is shorter. In the map there is a 30 seconds creation period;
• While in the video is it not shown (because I am a lazy ass and don't want to update it), the player does get bounty from killing the creeps, in the map;
• I did get permission from Kitabatake to modify his tower model;
• This tower is designed to be an expensive playa xD. It is meant as some sort of ultimate tower, especially if the user reduces the orb creation duration or increases the number of orbs per tower;
• I might modify the tower. However, I am unsure if I will get the time to do so, that is why I am submitting it in this form.

I will, mainly this summer. After that I go to college so I'm not sure how much time I'll have to map xD.

Of course you did. And of course I credited you (refer to Weep's post). And while it was uploaded on a resource site, I imagine it was free to use for anyone, as long as credit was given.

The Tower of Pain​

This tower is circled by four rotating knives.
In the knives are living souls, which grant them independence from their tower.
Additionally they add two abilities to the knives.​

Magician's Steeple

Magician's Steeple

The tower has 2 orbs with ranged attacks circling around it. There is 3 different kind of Orbs, which enables 3 different options for the tower: to have Poison Orb+Frost Orb, Frost Orb+Death Orb, or Death Orb+Poison Orb. Each of the 3 orb types have different attack types and special abilities.

Upg: Warlock's Steeple

This upgrade has 4 Death Orbs circling around it, no options on that. A Warlock's Steeple can activate the "Ghost Wind", which will banish nearby creeps all the time. This will slow them down heavily, but making them ethereal. This is no problem for the Warlock's Steeple itself, however, as it has an Orb type with magic damage.

Are there any limits on imports? And are there limits on how many spells/abilities the towers can have?

I do think they count, but that will get you into the fire zone of a rule that is something along the lines 'do not make multiple accounts and abuse them', which could get you banned .

I wanted that key, so I joined, hoping for at least a 3rd place! :thup:

Also, I don't get the relation between a contest submission and post count..

Not really. As long as they don't cause problems, make the map too big for Battlenet, or are used for no purpose at all, then it should be fine.

As long as they contribute to each other or some main tower theme, then generally it's ok. Don't get crazy, though.
