Season 3 lock, season 4 changes information

Season 3 is coming to an end soon, and Season 4 is on the horizon. At the end of each ladder season, leagues are “locked” which means players can no longer be promoted or demoted out of their current league or division, and bonus pools will stop growing. That’s no reason to quit playing: even after leagues are locked, players will still be able to play out their remaining bonus pool and compete for standing within their divisions until the end of the season two weeks later. The match-making skill ratings which determine league promotion and demotion will also continue to update during the lock, so games played during the lock still count toward league placement in Season 4.

The Season 3 lock will go into effect the week of October 10th. Season 3 will officially end, and Season 4 will begin on the week of October 24th. Season milestone rewards will be locked in at this time, and bonus pools will start over. Hidden skill ratings used for matchmaking and league placement will carry over from the previous season, so players who have completed placement matches in a previous season will only need to play one new placement match after Season 4 starts.

Beginning with Season 4, there are two changes coming to future ladder seasons:

Each season will now last for approximately two months
Grandmaster league placement time will be reduced to one week (from two weeks) to account for the reduced season length

Each season will last for 2 months. Interesting... I am not sure if I agree with that. What do you guys think ?

that sounds like an extremely short season... 6 seasons a year?

Actually that sounds cool to me. But placements in season won't be nearly as acurate. Why ? If I simply play a lot of zerg players by chance, in the 100-ish games I have played for the season (even if they ARE 100) I will win the majority of my games (not that winning vs zerg is easy, just an example) Therefore I can score rank 1 master easy. And if I face mostly protosses I might even have zero points at the end of the season xD

I think that blizzard's goal is to make ladder more friendly for the casual gamers. With all those leagues the new way to make an impression is by winning cups and doing well in them rather than having high ladder position. (I am talking about master/diamond and below ofc)

not suprising at all, they do that with every game since activision took over, they dont realize that competition makes the game thrive since people are naturally competitive

they finally got back to real difficulty with wow when in wotlk the raid difficulty was 1/10th of that of BC and vanilla

This isn't necisarily a bad thing. I mean... It isn't a good thing, but it can be neutral. For instance they are fucking up the game after there is a clear way for people to go pro- win tournaments. Sucks that you need to know the entire system in detail for you to know how to go pro tho...

i dont really think it is either, but it was for wow, sc2 is geared for more casual play, where as in wow you need to devote ~100 hrs of gameplay minimum constant farming/leveling to hit max level and be a successfull farmer and no1 can be that productive, it just sounds like something activision would do

I hadn't looked at things that way. Hm... yeah there is probably some truth to this.

Looks like Google fixed whatever mistake that made the recipes on the site go crazy and we are no longer trending towards a recipe site lol - I don't care though because it motivated me to spend alot of time on the site improving it and at least now the content people are looking at is not stupid and embarrassing like it was when I first got back into this like 5 years ago.

Plus - I have a pretty bad ass recipe collection now! That section of the site is 10 thousand times better than it was before

I got one more day of community service and then I'm free from this nonsense! I polished a cop car today for a funeral or something I guess

They also were digging threw old shit at the sheriff's office and I tried to get them to give me the old electronic stuff, but they said no. They can't give it to people because they might use it to impersonate a cop or break into their network or some shit? idk but it was a shame to see them take a whole bunch of radios and shit to get shredded and landfilled

How come you're so into recipes lately? Never saw this much interest in this topic in the old days of TH.net
  • Monovertex Monovertex:
Hmm, how do I change my signature?
  • tom_mai78101 tom_mai78101:
Signatures can be edit in your account profile. As for the old stuffs, I'm thinking it's because Blizzard is now under Microsoft, and because of Microsoft Xbox going the way it is, it's dreadful.
  • The Helper The Helper:
I am not big on the recipes I am just promoting them - I use the site as a practice place promoting stuff

@tom_mai78101 I must be blind. If I go on my profile I don't see any area to edit the signature; If I go to account details (settings) I don't see any signature area either.
  • The Helper The Helper:
You can get there if you click the bell icon (alerts) and choose preferences from the bottom, signature will be in the menu on the left there https://www.thehelper.net/account/preferences
