Maybe you could not use Lordaeron Summer Tileset. It is known as the most fail tileset ever.

Off topic: Hi waaks!, long time since I seen you here or at WC3C.

I feel it worked out well for its purpose. My next AoS project (currently in the design phase for the next week) will definitely use a different tile set.

This map is basically complete. There's some balance and small bugs and typos that could be hunted down and fixed, but I'll put those off until later.

I'm not a one idea wonder so I can't just stick with one small project my whole life when its already basically completed with people enjoying it profusely ;)

A map cannot be completed, there is always room for improvements. You should really improve on your terraining skills with some height variations.

I believe in the forum rules it states 24 hours to bump. Not positive, but thought I saw that somewhere.

Also, its more reasonable to just move on to another project when one is enjoyable enough. Like you said its never complete, so its pointless to continue tweaking one project when there's no real need for the tweaks since it will never become perfect (unless you're a triple A project like DOTA).

Hi there!

It's also better to improve your map until it becomes a real masterpiece. Remember, nothing is perfect.

My suggestion.. well... improve and tweak your map. Makers of the famous Wc3 maps advocated the same principle. You can make the people who enjoyed the map enjoy it in a whole different way. Btw this is the same mistake I made....quality over quantity.

It's also fine moving on to another project, but still..

Anyways the AoS is good:thup:.. has a lot of potential.

From my own personal standards I feel it's in my best interest to learn from the mistakes and the time I spent on this project to make an even better one. A developers worst enemy is time, and I feel its better to practice getting it done right the first time rather than tweaking it over a year. For example: professional level designers don't take a year on one campaign map, or they would be fired.

Also, one good design piece that took 1-2 years to make does not look anything close to as good as multiple decent pieces over that same amount of time (to an employer at least).

I would suggest working on this one more instead of another AoS, because that's the main problem with AoSes, there are too many and not enough time spent to make them great. Instead of learning from your mistakes for next time, I would just fix em this time. It makes people think you care about the project, and it shows you have commitment, which makes people come back and look forward to new version. And sorry if it seems like a rant, but those are just my thoughts.

As I stated previously, it will receive some updates at a later time to clean up some of the last few areas that require addressing.

Hmm, how do I change my signature?

Signatures can be edit in your account profile. As for the old stuffs, I'm thinking it's because Blizzard is now under Microsoft, and because of Microsoft Xbox going the way it is, it's dreadful.

@tom_mai78101 I must be blind. If I go on my profile I don't see any area to edit the signature; If I go to account details (settings) I don't see any signature area either.

Crazy how much 3d printing has come in the last few years. Sad that it's not as easily modifiable though
  • Varine Varine:
I bought an Ender 3 during the pandemic and tinkered with it all the time. Just bought a Sovol, not as easy. I'm trying to make it use a different nozzle because I have a fuck ton of Volcanos, and they use what is basically a modified volcano that is just a smidge longer, and almost every part on this thing needs to be redone to make it work
  • Varine Varine:
Luckily I have a 3d printer for that, I guess. But it's ridiculous. The regular volcanos are 21mm, these Sovol versions are about 23.5mm
  • Varine Varine:
So, 2.5mm longer. But the thing that measures the bed is about 1.5mm above the nozzle, so if I swap it with a volcano then I'm 1mm behind it. So cool, new bracket to swap that, but THEN the fan shroud to direct air at the part is ALSO going to be .5mm to low, and so I need to redo that, but by doing that it is a little bit off where it should be blowing and it's throwing it at the heating block instead of the part, and fuck man
  • Varine Varine:
I didn't realize they designed this entire thing to NOT be modded. I would have just got a fucking Bambu if I knew that, the whole point was I could fuck with this. And no one else makes shit for Sovol so I have to go through them, and they have... interesting pricing models. So I have a new extruder altogether that I'm taking apart and going to just design a whole new one to use my nozzles. Dumb design.
  • Varine Varine:
Can't just buy a new heatblock, you need to get a whole hotend - so block, heater cartridge, thermistor, heatbreak, and nozzle. And they put this fucking paste in there so I can't take the thermistor or cartridge out with any ease, that's 30 dollars. Or you can get the whole extrudor with the direct driver AND that heatblock for like 50, but you still can't get any of it to come apart
  • Varine Varine:
Partsbuilt has individual parts I found but they're expensive. I think I can get bits swapped around and make this work with generic shit though
