Slow Loading?

I've noticed that in the past month, all pages on TH.net have seemed to load "slower".

For example, when I open any page, the Header image will load, then the sidebar instantly after that, but it's in the middle of the page*. After about 3-4 seconds, the rest of the page slowly appears. Ever since I have joined this site, every page has opened instantly, and now it's starting to annoy me.

So my question is, is this just me? Or are other people experiencing this as well?

Yes, I am using Google Chrome.

I tried using Firefox (my old browser) and the problem remains. At times it even seems to load a second or two slower with Firefox.

I'm on Chrome (lastest stable build).
It loads slowly, but I am on WiFi (and an old WiFi card), so thats why.

My internet can load any other web-page / forum with ease in under 1 second, and this problem only started about a month ago. If it's happening for some other people as well, I doubt it's just on my end.

Is there a way to disable to side-bar client-side, if that maybe the problem?

Well, I had the problem a month ago, but it went away lately, I'm using Chrome, so that's not the problem.

I've added a good deal of optimizations to the forums - we'll see if that helps load times any.

Same, again. Could be the computer? My computer is full of files, but is now slow. Or could be the internet connection.

If you mean disable it for just one person, no there is no such way, as far as I know.

If you mean disable it for the entire forum, there is such a way, but it will not be implemented.

While agree, yes, other people said they had loading problems, I see far more people saying they DON'T have loading issues now or ever and as such, I can't agree with disabling anything on the forum.
