If you have any thoughts or suggestion regarding the development of our new boards, please feel welcome to post them to this thread. I'm pretty skilled at template and style mods, and I'd like some feedback.

I like it.

I got really scared though when I clicked on the favorites button. Yowser.

Too badd all the colors can't look like this box does? Faded blue and white? Cute.

The only weird thing is, half the forum is 'old school' and half of it is ' new school'.

Can we now put a direct link to the tutorial site at the top of the world editor forums?

The new post cork board picture is slightly orange. I don't think its enough of a difference from those without new posts. The yellow was strong and obvious there was new posts there, while the orange is just a corner of the cork, and subtle.

I see we are using a fixed font size now.... mixed emotions. Never too big, but no option. Hmmmm... keep it i'd say.

Inside a thread with multiple posts, there are so many lines of the same thickness, which makes it tough for the brain to seperate the posts. they kind of mesh as one.

But instead of thicker lines, how bout the TOP bar with the date on the post? Above the name? Slightly lighter or darker background - to break up the posts more.

Can we increase the time before it says 'last edited by.....' to something like three minutes? I always have afterthoughts - I think 3 minutes or so would be fair. Oh hey look - it did it again. Heh.

Wow, I like you can have an ICON for a list, instead of coding it. I think darg and I are the only ones who used lists in the WE forum.

I still don't see an option for inserted images. That never worked before either.

Whats the difference between delete message, and physically remove?

Hey I'm revamping this site for www.extremekickboxing.net - your good with layouts and colors. Perhaps you could spend a moment to look at it. This guy expects a miracle, but without scrapping the whole thing...... hmmm

It was a nightmare - the first thing I did was break down 40 HTML files into one php template. For real, the guy had the 170 line menu repeating in EVERY page. If you wanted to change ONE link? No way buddy. 40 links. But you won't believe what hes paying me for it....or well.... you may ;)

I did redo the menus on the left. Pleeeease look?

we're missimg about 8 hours of posts in total. the reason why they are missing is because all of the upgrades were performed on a duplicate database.

I'm forced to log in manually every time I visit the site… Is that intentional?

I'm speechless.

Is this supposed to be an improvement?

Edit: How coincidental. At the very same moment I posted this reply, the forum rules were modified.

Obviously, some things were reset when they installed the new software man.

WTF?

Last night everything was neat and clean. Now its gargantuan text, cho HUGE I tell ya!

Why is the title of the forum so light, then the text is so dark? 'Edit Post , Delete this Message' and forum names are headers, and should be the darker one.

Ah my eyes

The post reply icons and stuff have white pixels on some edges.

Look at it:

Yeah, I think there is a small issue with the sessions timer, heh. Personally, I'm quite surprised that the upgrade went so well. Given that nearly everything about the database table columns changes from v2.* to 3.* I was half expecting an error to pop out.

I guess it takes more to impress other people.

Don't get me wrong either, heh.

It really helps to know if there are display problems so I can isolate them and change them as needed. ;)

Ignore the issue I posted earlier. Apparently, only members which are logged in can edit their posts and post attachments.

As I said, though, the new lay-out is not very synoptic; It's almost hard to see the author of a post. If the author names were written bold, this problem would be solved.

Also, the emotion-icons in the list are not identical to the emotion-icons in the posts themselves.

something nice I've noticed is that, previously the world editor sticky thread list looked cluttered and messy. Now the threads are very clearly presented and I can actually quickly recognise what threads are what. Very pleased with that.

this is a question about how we hover our mouse cursor over thread titles and get a text box appearing with the contents of the first post.

Why is it that some thread titles I hover my mouse over do not do this, while others do? An example is that, in the World Editor forum, I get a text box appearing when putting my cursor over the Free Trigger Code thread, but I cannot get any boxes appearing when putting the cursor over the World Editor Tutorials Section or Hosted Maps threads.

As a dial-up user, I'm sure you guys know how much time this would save me! I no longer have to open a thread up to view its contents! Just hover my mouse over the thread subject and bingo its there!

Would it be possible to get a readable (user-selectable) date-format?

This thread, for example, started on 02-01-2005, 06:29 AM,
which is one month ago... (in some parts of the world)

Or, why not go with ISO? Today, it would show 2005-02-03...

Crazy how much 3d printing has come in the last few years. Sad that it's not as easily modifiable though
  • Varine Varine:
I bought an Ender 3 during the pandemic and tinkered with it all the time. Just bought a Sovol, not as easy. I'm trying to make it use a different nozzle because I have a fuck ton of Volcanos, and they use what is basically a modified volcano that is just a smidge longer, and almost every part on this thing needs to be redone to make it work
  • Varine Varine:
Luckily I have a 3d printer for that, I guess. But it's ridiculous. The regular volcanos are 21mm, these Sovol versions are about 23.5mm
  • Varine Varine:
So, 2.5mm longer. But the thing that measures the bed is about 1.5mm above the nozzle, so if I swap it with a volcano then I'm 1mm behind it. So cool, new bracket to swap that, but THEN the fan shroud to direct air at the part is ALSO going to be .5mm to low, and so I need to redo that, but by doing that it is a little bit off where it should be blowing and it's throwing it at the heating block instead of the part, and fuck man
  • Varine Varine:
I didn't realize they designed this entire thing to NOT be modded. I would have just got a fucking Bambu if I knew that, the whole point was I could fuck with this. And no one else makes shit for Sovol so I have to go through them, and they have... interesting pricing models. So I have a new extruder altogether that I'm taking apart and going to just design a whole new one to use my nozzles. Dumb design.
  • Varine Varine:
Can't just buy a new heatblock, you need to get a whole hotend - so block, heater cartridge, thermistor, heatbreak, and nozzle. And they put this fucking paste in there so I can't take the thermistor or cartridge out with any ease, that's 30 dollars. Or you can get the whole extrudor with the direct driver AND that heatblock for like 50, but you still can't get any of it to come apart
  • Varine Varine:
Partsbuilt has individual parts I found but they're expensive. I think I can get bits swapped around and make this work with generic shit though
