Weird Startup

Ever since i changed my desktop wallpaper, (it takes the same time to load) but all my icons are gone, my AIM sorta freezes and it shows the OLD background.

after about 15 s, it loads all the icons and changes the wallpaper, just wondering why

Does the problem persist if you change the wallpaper? Is there anything special about the wallpaper(format, size, etc...)?

It seems to me it isn't so much the wallpaper but soemthing else, which is repeatedly trying to do something, but stops after 15s, like a program which tries to send something over the internet, but there's no connnection.

I sound too much like a detective or something

Why don't you try changing the background?

Cuz I like the current wallpaper o_o. it might have to with the image being .png while the old image was .jpg

Try changing it and see what happens. You can convert to different formats you know.
