You are probably just unlucky. You need to buy it again to see if it's really just one piece of cheese.

Wendy’s is sweetening its breakfast lineup with a new treat that comes from an unusual place: Another fast food chain.

It’s a risky bet that other chains have made before. Partnerships between rivals can boost sales, but they can also anger restaurant owners.

Beginning February 26, Wendy’s is partnering with Cinnabon to add a new a cinnamon roll-like baked good to its morning menu, marking a unique partnership between two chains that often compete for similar price-conscious customers.

It’s common for fast food chains to partner with other brands they might not consider direct rivals. “This is a way to license the brand and get it reach well beyond its existing store base,” according to Jonathan Maze, the editor-in-chief of trade publication Restaurant Business.

Wendy’s is looking to test having the prices of its menu items fluctuate throughout the day based on demand, implementing a strategy that has already taken hold with ride-sharing companies and ticket sellers.

During a conference call earlier this month, Wendy’s CEO Kirk Tanner said that the Dublin, Ohio-based burger chain will start testing dynamic pricing, also known as surge pricing, as early as next year.

“Beginning as early as 2025, we will begin testing more enhanced features like dynamic pricing and daypart offerings, along with AI-enabled menu changes and suggestive selling,” he said. “As we continue to show the benefit of this technology in our company-operated restaurants, franchisee interest in digital menu boards should increase, further supporting sales and profit growth across the system.”

Wendy’s Co. plans to invest about $20 million to launch digital menu boards at all of its U.S. company-run restaurants by the end of 2025. It also plans to invest approximately $10 million over the next two years to support digital menu enhancements globally.

Wendy’s says it has no plans to raise prices during the busiest times at its restaurants

Wendy’s says that it has no plans to increase prices during the busiest times at its restaurants.

The burger chain clarified its stance on how it will approach pricing after media picked up on comments by CEO Kirk Tanner that the company would test features like dynamic pricing at restaurants.

Companies like Uber have used dynamic pricing, or surge pricing, to moderate use by customers during the busiest days of the year, or when drivers or cars are in short supply during the day. Prices rise and fall with demand using that business model.

This month during a conference call with investors and industry analysts, Tanner said, “Beginning as early as 2025, we will begin testing more enhanced features like dynamic pricing and daypart offerings, along with AI-enabled menu changes and suggestive selling.”

AI has come to the hiring process — and it's made those mandatory personality tests all the weirder.

As 404 Media reports, companies as disparate as McDonald's, Olive Garden, and FedEx are now requiring that job applicants take personality evaluations, which are then sorted by an AI system whose operations are cloudy at best.

The aforementioned companies are all contracted with Paradox.ai, a "conversational recruiting software" company whose strange personality assessments include images of blue-skinned humanoid aliens that applicants are, apparently, supposed to identify with.

In one Reddit post fielded by the fine folks at 404, for instance, the applicant is presented with a photo of two blue aliens standing in a restaurant kitchen. One of the humanoids is evidently tearing up spices by hand as another stands beside them, and below the image, applicants are given the confusing directions to "simply click 'Me' if the image describes how you generally are and 'Not Me' if it does not." Above them, the word "Traditional" is, for some reason, written as a sort of header.

Don Gorske, 70, becomes one of Guinness World Records’ longest-running holders with intake of two McDonald’s burgers a day

Don Gorske did not have many people betting on him to live into his 70s with his half-century-old habit of eating Big Mac hamburgers daily.

But cutting down his intake of the famous McDonald’s burgers to two a day (rather than his previous high of nine), skipping fries with his meals and walking six miles daily for exercise has not only helped him become a septuagenarian – it has also allowed him to extend his Guinness world record for most Big Macs eaten in a lifetime to more than 34,000.

“Many people thought I’d be dead by now,” the 70-year-old Gorske said on Thursday in an interview published by the organization which is known for maintaining a database of more than 40,000 world records. “But instead I’ve been … one of Guinness World Records’ longer-running record holders, so that’s pretty cool to me.”

It’s hard to overstate how central McDonald’s and its staple product have been to the identity of the retired prison officer from Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. That’s the case despite longstanding warnings from experts who say regularly consuming fast food, including McDonald’s, can contribute to weight gain, obesity, heart disease and other health problems because the meals are densely packed with calories, sodium, sugar and fat.

The popular burger chain is expanding yet again!

In-N-Out is a beloved burger chain on the West Coast known for its secret menu items and cult status. Once only a fast-food joint for those living in places like California and Arizona, In-N-Out has since been working on opening new locations in the Tennessee area and New Mexico for the first time.

Now, the popular burger joint that used to be a stickler on expanding outside its origins, can add yet another state to its growing list.

In-N-Out recently revealed it will soon expand to Washington State for the first time. The restaurant is slated to be located in the Ridgefield area around Union Ridge Town Center.

The company is only in the proposal stages for this new location, but we hear customers can expect a spacious venue with a drive-thru and a covered patio once construction begins.

Crazy how much 3d printing has come in the last few years. Sad that it's not as easily modifiable though
  • Varine Varine:
I bought an Ender 3 during the pandemic and tinkered with it all the time. Just bought a Sovol, not as easy. I'm trying to make it use a different nozzle because I have a fuck ton of Volcanos, and they use what is basically a modified volcano that is just a smidge longer, and almost every part on this thing needs to be redone to make it work
  • Varine Varine:
Luckily I have a 3d printer for that, I guess. But it's ridiculous. The regular volcanos are 21mm, these Sovol versions are about 23.5mm
  • Varine Varine:
So, 2.5mm longer. But the thing that measures the bed is about 1.5mm above the nozzle, so if I swap it with a volcano then I'm 1mm behind it. So cool, new bracket to swap that, but THEN the fan shroud to direct air at the part is ALSO going to be .5mm to low, and so I need to redo that, but by doing that it is a little bit off where it should be blowing and it's throwing it at the heating block instead of the part, and fuck man
  • Varine Varine:
I didn't realize they designed this entire thing to NOT be modded. I would have just got a fucking Bambu if I knew that, the whole point was I could fuck with this. And no one else makes shit for Sovol so I have to go through them, and they have... interesting pricing models. So I have a new extruder altogether that I'm taking apart and going to just design a whole new one to use my nozzles. Dumb design.
  • Varine Varine:
Can't just buy a new heatblock, you need to get a whole hotend - so block, heater cartridge, thermistor, heatbreak, and nozzle. And they put this fucking paste in there so I can't take the thermistor or cartridge out with any ease, that's 30 dollars. Or you can get the whole extrudor with the direct driver AND that heatblock for like 50, but you still can't get any of it to come apart
  • Varine Varine:
Partsbuilt has individual parts I found but they're expensive. I think I can get bits swapped around and make this work with generic shit though
