Yeah, they just sit there. Like I said, I did a very simplistic test of an AI script with regular units that worked fine, so it makes me think the problem is with the fact that I'm using custom units? But I've edited every single thing they're supposed to build or train ('cos I don't think Orc...
Hey all hi all,
I'm making a map in which there is a central base of (sort of) Night Elves. That is, they're almost like the standard Elves, but I want them to be able to train and use some "campaign only" units (like sentries) and some technically non-elven units, such as Blood Elf...
Bumpity? I've no idea how to make them do anything but gather resources.
Still nada? Is there a "regular" AI I could see somewhere, to tweak a copy to my own designs? I'm trying to make one based on the Elves, but which will allow them to train and use some "campaign only" units, like Sentries.
I've (finally!) got this working mostly correctly. It generates a bunch of units for Player 12 (a neutral hostile computer player), tells 'em to board a ship, and then they get dropped off somewhere and go a-raiding, just to make the map a little bit more interesting. I've designated 5 areas...
Yay, an answer! And sorry, I do know my inter-nettiquette, but it's frustrating, I've been trying exactly that for days now - I just can't find the right condition to set and so forth. I only want it on when ONE weather effect (1 out of the 5 variables) is on. It's even more frustrating when...
I've got a nice random weather system working out, sometimes it rains, sometimes it doesn't, etc. Is there a way to make other effects (specifically lightning and "rainy" ambient sounds) to play only when it's actually raining?
So I'm probably better off just writing mucho triggers, huh? It may be more complicated, but then again I'd rather spend a lot of time working on something that actually WORKS. :)
I'm still a bit lost as far as setting the conditions for what the AI will do though. Examples would be key - all I can get them to do is gather gold; nothing more, nothing less. : S
I've been reading up on the AI Editor, but I can't seem to make them do anything besides harvest gold. Would this be less complicated figuring out the AI, or would triggers be a better idea?
Maybe I've just not played enough yet, but it seems to me the computer doesn't really make much use of transport vehicles in melee maps. I'm working on a map in which I'd like one computer-controlled force is a group of pirates, so that they'll load up and harass all the other players every so...
