StarCraft 2 Editor - Wish List

Something else I thought of, which isn't necessarily to do with the world editor, is why isn't there a description of the map on the 'start game' screen of battle.net? (i.e. the screen where players join your game) I'm so sick of people joining custom maps and asking "what do i do in this...

StarCraft 2 Editor - Wish List

I'm gonna scream if I cant generate some real terrain with triggers. Imagine how many cool maps could be made if we could generate cliffs?

StarCraft 2 Editor - Wish List

Has anyone suggested a better way of finding the host of a multiplayer game? It's a problem that can only vaguely be solved using JASS in Wc3, but would be quite useful. Hopefully blizzard will add a simple function for it.

StarCraft 2 Editor - Wish List

The problem is that often we want the number to go below zero, so this is unavoidable. BTW, has anyone mentioned that the tinting colour should start in the middle, so that we can ADD red/green/blue instead of just taking it away? Sometimes we want units to be lighter than the original ;)...

StarCraft 2 Editor - Wish List

I agree with some of this, especially attachment points. I'd suggest that the editor somehow scans for attachment points in a model when it's selected, so that it can present them in a drop-down list rather than having the user type them in, but then I know very little on modelling so I'm not...

StarCraft 2 Editor - Wish List

More and more I wish they would allow us to save custom map data easily. Just some simple functions would be fantastic. Although it would need some sort of encryption to stop people hacking it. Or as I said in a previous post, allow it to be saved to a server; that would make it much harder to...

StarCraft 2 Editor - Wish List

Hahaha :p He annoyed the crap outta me too! I just didn't want to start a war. I can understand the point. JASS is clearly more powerful/flexible, and makes for much neater, more efficient code. That's fine, there's nothing I love more than clean, efficient code, but please realise there's...

StarCraft 2 Editor - Wish List

Also, the obvious - garbage collection, an AI editor that's actually useful, ability to make truly custom abilities* (which I believe has been somewhat confirmed). Stuff like that that they'd be insane not to fix :D It would also be great not to have to add events via actions when I want to use...

StarCraft 2 Editor - Wish List

How about being able to store information on a server (e.g. Blizzard's). Not sure if this can be done with Wc3, but it would be pretty useful (although privacy concerns may arise :p). For example, being able to store a high-scores list, and check/update it at the end of every game (on bnet) -...

    One-Way Elevator?

Yes, that's more or less the idea I'm going off, my code above is pretty similar and allows multiple people to go on the elevator, however I'm still finding it to be flawed (e.g. needs to be number of living units, or a unit dying on the elevator screws things up). What I've come to realise...

    One-Way Elevator?

Ok, I think I've figured it out. This seems to form a one-way elevator, but I need a way to ensure neutral hostile units can't get on the elevator (at all). Otherwise they could get on it and stop more players getting up, or if they don't count in the trigger they could escape to the level below...

    One-Way Elevator?

The levels are of course physically connected - the unit walks onto the elevator, goes up, then walks out onto the next level. Wouldn't it look silly if u just zipped up when u walked on it? I had an idea, perhaps it would be easiest to treat the elevator like a gate, and have a region either...

    One-Way Elevator?

Hi, I've been working on a map where the player moves up 'levels' of the map via elevators (i.e. the map looks like a giant staircase). For this purpose, once a player has gone 'up' they should not be able to get back 'down', however, other players should be able to keep going 'up'. Also...
