Headquarters

The goal of the game is to destroy the other players' headquarters while protecting your own.

You send units to another player's lane through your barracks. You increase your income by sending units. The minerals from income is used to send units and purchase defensive towers.

Each player has a targeter. The targeter is almost exactly the same as a crosshair in an FPS game. You control it by moving your mouse. To kill units in your lane you have to hit spacebar while units are near the targeter.

The closer a unit is to the center of the targeter the more damage will be done.

Targeter attacks are upgraded based on your income. There are 4 levels of attacks. There are 3 attacks for each level. The 3 attacks are Single Target, Multi-Target and All Targets. Attacks that hit a lower amount of units deal increased damage, while attacks that hit multiple or all units deal lower damage.

Attack specializations are chosen at the beginning of the game to allow you to gain bonuses in a certain attack type.

The game can either be FFA or 2v2. In FFA all players have their own lane, but in 2v2 there are two groups of players and they share a lane.

In 2v2 players are able to choose to be either an Attacker of Defender.
  • Attackers gain increased income for sending units and their sent units have increased health, but deal reduced damage with targeter attacks.
  • Defenders receive reduced income from sending units, but deal increased damage with click attacks and gain income from units killed in their lane.

Headquarters has fully functioning AI. This allows you to play against computers when you are unable to find other players. Just add a AI(Computer) to the game lobby and you're set. Multiple computers can be added (up to a max of 4 players). Computers can play in both FFA and 2v2.

i would consider making them unselectable... it looks wierd when you shoot at them with a selection cursor. Thats just my opinion ;)

Just got done playing a 2v2 on this map. Was quite enjoyable.

Some comments:

1) Do the click attack buffs stack with eachother? or does only the highest level upgrade apply? I didn't see any information anywhere that specified.

2) In the team mode, I sometimes had a hard time differentiating whether I was hitting or my teammate was. In the end it doesn't really matter, but personally I like to know when Im damaging and for how much. Maybe add a dmg number pop up each time you do damage or something similar?

3) [BUG] In our 2v2 game, 1 member of the other team lagged out. After me and my teammate destroyed the other guy's base, the game kept going because the dropped guy 'still had health' according to the scoreboard. Looks like his information stopped being tracked (since when their base was damaged, his health wasn't being changed) but was still being considered in victory checks.

Overall (despite this horrible bnet lag phase I just can't wait to pass) it was pretty darn fun. =] Good work man.

1 - The level you upgrade applies to your attack. They do not stack. I'll add a tooltip in to state this.

2 - I'll see if I can do something visual that displays what you are attacking. Displaying the damage you do sounds interesting, but people clicking 100+ times a minute mind find it more of just a cluster of annoyance than anything else. I'll try to think of something.

3 - This is actually fixed in the latest version, but I don't know how to "replace" old versions with the new one. I did republish with a new minor version but it didn't seem to replace the old versions.

Thanks for the comments/suggestions.

The bots will show up as users online in the forum software but they do not show up in my stats tracking. I am sure there are bots in the stats but the way alot of the bots treat the site do not show up on the stats
  • Varine Varine:
I want to build a filtration system for my 3d printer, and that shit is so much more complicated than I thought it would be
  • Varine Varine:
Apparently ABS emits styrene particulates which can be like .2 micrometers, which idk if the VOC detectors I have can even catch that
  • Varine Varine:
Anyway I need to get some of those sensors and two air pressure sensors installed before an after the filters, which I need to figure out how to calculate the necessary pressure for and I have yet to find anything that tells me how to actually do that, just the cfm ratings
  • Varine Varine:
And then I have to set up an arduino board to read those sensors, which I also don't know very much about but I have a whole bunch of crash course things for that
  • Varine Varine:
These sensors are also a lot more than I thought they would be. Like 5 to 10 each, idk why but I assumed they would be like 2 dollars
  • Varine Varine:
Another issue I'm learning is that a lot of the air quality sensors don't work at very high ambient temperatures. I'm planning on heating this enclosure to like 60C or so, and that's the upper limit of their functionality
  • Varine Varine:
Although I don't know if I need to actually actively heat it or just let the plate and hotend bring the ambient temp to whatever it will, but even then I need to figure out an exfiltration for hot air. I think I kind of know what to do but it's still fucking confusing
  • The Helper The Helper:
Maybe you could find some of that information from AC tech - like how they detect freon and such
  • Varine Varine:
That's mostly what I've been looking at
  • Varine Varine:
I don't think I'm dealing with quite the same pressures though, at the very least its a significantly smaller system. For the time being I'm just going to put together a quick scrubby box though and hope it works good enough to not make my house toxic
  • Varine Varine:
I mean I don't use this enough to pose any significant danger I don't think, but I would still rather not be throwing styrene all over the air

I bitch about Xenforo sometimes but it really is full featured you just have to really know what you are doing to get the most out of it.
  • The Helper The Helper:
It is just not easy to fix styles and customize but it definitely can be done
  • The Helper The Helper:
I do know this - xenforo dropped the ball by not keeping the vbulletin reputation comments as a feature. The loss of the Reputation comments data when we switched to Xenforo really was the death knell for the site when it came to all the users that left. I know I missed it so much and I got way less interested in the site when that feature was gone and I run the site.
