Hi,
I've seen some pretty amazing examples of recreating or design dungeons or WoW instances. I want to create a map based around them, for all you who have played WoW i might recreate some good end-game maps.I haven't experienced all of them because i've just became a 60 rogue, and now TBC is out it's hard to find players willing to do 60 raids. These maps are good because i can get an average of all damage using a mod wich saves the lowest and highest damage and recreating it on WE.
At the start everyone playing will most likely choose to be a few classes from a button selection/hero selection, get some gold and spend it on armor before the instance,so you'll customize each character. E.G. Give a priest some good intellect and spirit gear, not forgetting food and drink. Then you'll get the quests for the dungeons to complete, the exact mobs and bosses.(even with extended areas, if it's too short )
Recreating a rogue may be quite easy in the mana terms, Because rogues have 20 energy restored every 2 seconds. and the max amount ofc would be 100. Then hopefully triggers would let me keep it at 100,in case a rogue gets gear which would give intellect/mana bonuses. Then, a trigger could be created which would be every weapon has a model file, so if it is equipped in slot 1 It would appear and give bonuses shields and maybe one-handed weapons would be on slot 2. Armour on slot 3-4(chest and legs most likely.)
And 5-6 could be food/drink etc.
this would mean a unit must carry an extra invulnerable, non- attacking unit (maybe more) to hold extras like different gear (shadow resistant gear for shadow bosses) and quest items. The problem is a class may want a 2-handed weapon and that means they would be able to have two two handed weapons. on slots 1 and 2.MAYBE triggering could stop that.
The second problem is that maybe giving each weapon, Armour, shield a model would result in massive lag/download rate(i'm not very sure).Would this mean
someone could put Bloodfang chest on slot 1 and carry Bloodfang chest in his hands and try to attack? So in that mini wall of text i've summarised what recreating WoW dungeons would be like.
But people may say i'm a bit uncreative as i could design whole new instances, whole new mobs, whole new classes and whole new items.
How should i do it?
Thanks for reading!
