I'm gonna get it A) cause it's asus. B ) because of its warranty.
If you can find a "better" laptop for me (NO MORE EXPENSIVE) please post it quick i'll give rep!! I want to buy that laptop above real soon. Thanks!

That's probably one of the best deals as far as I can tell.

Can you by any chance tell me why the one i showed is more expensive and the impact on gaming/multi-application use would be if i went with the cheaper one as opposed to the more expensive one? In other words, is the extra 200 dollars worth the "better" specs, and what r they? Thanks!
The CPU on the more expensive one is 430MHz faster. If you think a ~20% increase in CPU speed is worth a ~24% increase in cost, go for the more expensive one.
Either one is a good deal, so whichever one you choose depends on what you think you will need (and how much you are willing to spend).

OKay then, talking about increases through price etc... what about this?

Would it be worth the extra 150 bucks for extra 2gb of ram, a slightly ( i think it's slight increase) better graphics card, more storage (though it matters little to me as i have external drives for that), 17 inches instead of 15, and i think it's LED instead of regular?

If you had to pick one of these laptops, comparing prices of course as well, which would you pick? I"m planning on using them for at least the next two years... Thanks.

If you can afford it, that one would be the best. The Geforce 260M is quite fast, as far as laptops go. (About as fast as a desktop 9600GSO to 8800GT, depending on how many stream processors it has in it).

im not quite sure why there's a 260 in a 17" laptop.. i understood that the 280's were for the 17" laptops and 260's for smaller laptops that cant take the heat (since the size of them is the exact same), but w/e.. if they ship you one with a 280, lucky you
