According to two research scientists the mystery of vanished ships and airplanes in the region dubbed "The Bermuda Triangle" has been solved.

Step aside outer space aliens, time anomalies, submerged giant Atlantean pyramids and bizarre meteorological phenomena ... the "Triangle" simply suffers from an acute case of gas.

Natural gas—the kind that heats ovens and boils water—specifically methane, is the culprit behind the mysterious disappearances and loss of water and air craft.

The evidence for this astounding new insight into a mystery that's bedeviled the world is laid out in a research paper published in the American Journal of Physics.

Any ships caught within the methane mega-bubble immediately lose all buoyancy and sink to the bottom of the ocean. If the bubbles are big enough and possess a high enough density they can also knock aircraft out of the sky with little or no warning.

Oh for the love of....

Great, glad to know that humanity shat their pants in fear for generations because of Natural Gas.

Hahah. I knew something like that was involved. Thank you for posting this here. I never would've read it elsewhere.

"Sherlock Holmes and the Burmuda Triangle" would've had a better ring to it.

And yes,

Methane eruptions may have been responsible for one of greatest mass extinctions in the history of Earth. Only the other day I was reading about how the oil spill nearly triggered a gigantic one which could have wiped out the entire gulf of Mexico.

And though this is probably the most logical and correct explanation, I am still going to go with submerged giant Atlantean pyramids so as to maintain an aura of mystery to the whole thing :p

Yeah, but you just know people will want to try anyways. It's a huge deposit of Natural Gas.

You Have.

These asshole scientist are stealing research and ideas from others and claiming it as thier own.

They actually said in the article that many others have had the idea as well.

EDIT: Turns out I misread that bit above.

I did like someone's comment:
"If the bubbles are big enough and possess a high enough density they can also knock aircraft out of the sky with little or no warning" So basically you're telling us that the earth just farted them away...

Same here. This is old news.

While this is probably correct, and I have also heard this theory, its also possible that until now, the methane theory hadn't been proven in a way recognized by some standard or another.

It could also be that this is either a new, similar theory, an improvement upon an existing idea, a theory based off others, etc. In other words, I'm saying that it might not be a proven thing.

Its also possible that the reporter didn't look at the date of paper's publishing. I believe this is possible(not guaranteed) due to the lack of quotes by the scientists.

Now that all that's out of the way, I personally believe that the methane bubbles are possibly cause of the disappearances.

However, I have heard a few things(Some of which the comments of the article reminded me of) about the area having about the same number of disappearances as any well trafficked area of the world.

A few disclaimers: first, these are just guesses of my own. Second, I don't have knowledge of the standards required for something to be recognized by the scientific community. Finally, I actually don't know much about the triangle, so I can't back up what I say. Its just my view from what I remember.

Signatures can be edit in your account profile. As for the old stuffs, I'm thinking it's because Blizzard is now under Microsoft, and because of Microsoft Xbox going the way it is, it's dreadful.

Crazy how much 3d printing has come in the last few years. Sad that it's not as easily modifiable though
  • Varine Varine:
I bought an Ender 3 during the pandemic and tinkered with it all the time. Just bought a Sovol, not as easy. I'm trying to make it use a different nozzle because I have a fuck ton of Volcanos, and they use what is basically a modified volcano that is just a smidge longer, and almost every part on this thing needs to be redone to make it work
  • Varine Varine:
Luckily I have a 3d printer for that, I guess. But it's ridiculous. The regular volcanos are 21mm, these Sovol versions are about 23.5mm
  • Varine Varine:
So, 2.5mm longer. But the thing that measures the bed is about 1.5mm above the nozzle, so if I swap it with a volcano then I'm 1mm behind it. So cool, new bracket to swap that, but THEN the fan shroud to direct air at the part is ALSO going to be .5mm to low, and so I need to redo that, but by doing that it is a little bit off where it should be blowing and it's throwing it at the heating block instead of the part, and fuck man
  • Varine Varine:
I didn't realize they designed this entire thing to NOT be modded. I would have just got a fucking Bambu if I knew that, the whole point was I could fuck with this. And no one else makes shit for Sovol so I have to go through them, and they have... interesting pricing models. So I have a new extruder altogether that I'm taking apart and going to just design a whole new one to use my nozzles. Dumb design.
  • Varine Varine:
Can't just buy a new heatblock, you need to get a whole hotend - so block, heater cartridge, thermistor, heatbreak, and nozzle. And they put this fucking paste in there so I can't take the thermistor or cartridge out with any ease, that's 30 dollars. Or you can get the whole extrudor with the direct driver AND that heatblock for like 50, but you still can't get any of it to come apart
  • Varine Varine:
Partsbuilt has individual parts I found but they're expensive. I think I can get bits swapped around and make this work with generic shit though
