Computer Wont Shut Down! AAAAAAAGH

The only way i can shut it down is by holding the power button, which i have heard isn't the best for your computer. It gets to the windows is shutting down screen and it doesnt go any further.

Do some virus scans and uninstall and remove things that are no longer used, normally fixes that a bit.

my laptop occationally does that... usually when it's been up the whole day..
my guess is some process (/program) is still running and windows cant stop it, so it also stops.

I did that, and no viruses showed up. (scanned it with malaware)

Go uninstall useless programs and install avast

try visiting the task manager before shutting down, then use it to end any suspicious process going on..

EDIT: Its actually called malwarebytes or something. Not Malaware.

Google Avast, download, install and let it run a boot time virus scan.
