I know that there is support for both "terrazine" and "custom resource" and I would like to know if anyone has any info on how to impliment them in a map (if at all possible in the beta version).

Dunno exactly how but I know that you can do everything with them. I'm just not sure why we can't just create more custom resources. You can change the resource type of mineral fields for example. Then you'd have to change all attached things. Look at the mineral field, and the worker, and the collect resource ability. So yes it's possible but too much work to explain, yet not that hard to do.
 
More so interested in the actual GUI on the top right corner of the screen than actually manipulating it via workers gathering... Since I'm not interested in making melee type maps anyways.
 
If only it were that easy. Already tried it, and nothing happens...

to clarify: nothing happens with the gui.

I can return the value of terrazine and it does indeed hold the info for how much each player has.

ok i havent thought of that... wouldn't know how to do that without a completely custom interface or a leaderboard.
 
I'd try messing with the UI elements, specifically the UI frames I think...
 
Sorry to hijack this thread, but anyone know how to change the icons of the supply and minerals in the top right?
 
I think both of you should check the GameUI field in the data list of the object manager. (Where you edit units and abilities, etc, there is a list box of all the things you can edit)

Fully possible in the data editor. Go to Data Type: Races and modify the Show Resources field.
 
and formerself wins! (Sorry I haven't even gone back to this issue since now... so I probably could have found it?!?) I didn't even know there was a "races" data... XD

EDIT: there is still no obvious answer to how to change the wording for any of the resources (including custom resource) or picture... game ui data doesn't hold the key =( anyone figure it out? My guess is that it's not yet implemented.
 
A bit of googling always solves questions. The wording can be changed in the Text Editor (F8). Make sure Data Source is set to All Data, sort by ID and find the entry with the ID UI/ResourceName3. You will probably need to change the tooltip entry as well (UI/ResourceToolTip3).

Haven't found a way to change the icon though. Probably have to find and overwrite the old file with a new one.

Also, the game can't seem to handle 4 resources at the same time. Activating a 4th pushes supply off the screen.
 
Finally managed to get a dds converter working on my version of windows. I edited the file icon-health-terran.dds (yeah, the custom resource file is named health) and got this without any problems.

    I have converted the Headline News forum to an Article type forum. It will now show the top 20 threads with more detail of each thread.

    It is OK though for the main page to open up on the forum in the view it was before. As long as the portal has its own URL so it can be viewed that way I do want to try it as a regular forum view for a while

    I switched it to a "Standard" article forum. This will show the thread list like normal, but the threads themselves will have the first post set up above the rest of the "comments"
