I'm making a RPG map, there's a proffession that I would like to add : fishing skill....


I don't have much Ideas, but I want that when you use a item(fishing rod), if you are in a shallow water tile, you have a X% chance to catch a type of fish, a Y% chance to catch another type of fish...etc, if you're not in shallow water, you'll receive a message saying "You must be on shallow water to use a fishing rod" or something like that....


Well, if anyone can teach me how to do this, write a trigger or something that can help here...

well, i can't figure out the entire trigger right now, but for the % chances, you could simply have it choose a random integer between 1 and 100, and if it is 1-50 you get this fish, 51-75 you a rarer fish, 76-85 even rarer, etc
 
Okay, ill try to help you. Just give me a time to figure out to do this. This is a hard problem for me.
 
Okay there you go, it takes only 1 trigger with two vairable to do this. Im sure this trigger have no memory leaks so it shouldnt be a problem in online.


IN game, u'll find a treasure(Its a fishing rod item)

What u need to do is pick up that item and cast it on shallow water. you have like 18% chance of capturing fish (4 different fishes)

Yea, if you create region in water or away from non-water tile. I think there is no way to tell if they fish on dirt or in water specificly unless you use region condition type.

    I do not see a way to go past the 1st page of posts on the forum though

    It is OK though for the main page to open up on the forum in the view it was before. As long as the portal has its own URL so it can be viewed that way I do want to try it as a regular forum view for a while

    Yeah I'm not sure what the deal is with the pagination.

    I switched it to a "Standard" article forum. This will show the thread list like normal, but the threads themselves will have the first post set up above the rest of the "comments"
