How many installation language we get for warcraft 3 ?
And how do you say "Footman" in these languages ?

Ofc if you don't change the unit name ('hfoo') ...

Sorry if i forgot some countries, they are just not written on the official blizzard website for the patches.

I want to know this, for make a function which can get the language of warcraft installed.

Edit : Because i can't use in the editor the Russian and Chinese letters, i must play with localized strings length.

Here is a testmap.
Could you test it and takes screenshots of the box messages ?
Since there are 24 localized strings, 2 screenshots should be enough.

If i get screenshots of all warcraft3 languages, i will no need anymore the requirement of a footman unit with the default name.

PS : I attache the English and French localized strings as examples, but for the others i will host them with imageshack.us, or something like that.

The rawcode is 'hfoo' for all languages.

You could try a translator program like babelfish

It also uses a footman to test.

I've seen this function, and it is pretty crappy, it creates an unit and detects only German and English people ...

PS : A translator is a bad idea, it can give a wrong translation.

Faust I think it's "Talpas" in Hungarian

"Talpas" isn't the best for Footman, I think it can be "Gyalogos" or something like this, the hungarian translations are not the best for games like this :S

Hmmm... Is there such thing as Taiwanese language? They speak Mandarin/Hokkien there, which are considered as dialects of Chinese language. I think Chinese Simplified/Traditional are enough to describe 'Taiwanese' language.

Didn't help much, though . Just to voice out my opinion.

The point of this function is to detect the warcraft3 language installed for each player, i had never talked about a translator.
And anyway most of the translator programs, for any languages, are just crappy, heh.

I've seen a map have 7 different languages, they just had to pick their language at start-up.
