opening and closing gate skill

One method would be..

01) Create a skill called "Open Gate"
02) Create a skill called "Close Gate"
03) Give "Open Gate" to your "Gate" Unit

Create 2 triggers.
---Open Gate---
01) Unit casts "Open Gate"
02) Remove ability "Open Gate" from TriggerUnit
03) Add ability "Close Gate" to TriggerUnit
04) Set Unit's animation to "Open"
05) Set Unit's pathing to false

---Close Gate---
01) Unit casts "Close Gate"
02) Remove ability "Close Gate" from TriggerUnit
03) Add ability "Open Gate" to TriggerUnit
04) Set Unit's animation to "Close"
05) Set Unit's pathing to true

does it matter what kind of skill i use for the open/close?
example: bladestorm for open gate?

It can be any skill.
But be reasonable at least =/

You don't wanna' open a gate while casting a 9000 damage nuke, do you?
It makes no sense, unless your game is like that.

There's this ability called, "channel"
Create a new ability based off that.
And set it to: Visible, Instant (No Target)

I'm sure you can figure out everything else yourself xD

ok so, ive done some of the triggers and i have problems with making the gate unit, do you have any ideas of what unit could be a gate. and how do i their size? (not the scaling value)

Your trigger should look something like...

Trigger:
  • Events
    • Unit - A unit starts the effect of an ability
    • Conditions
      • (ability being cast) equal to Open Gate [or whatever the name of your ability is]
    • Actions
      • [do your actions here]

you need to use a generic unit event, not a specific unit event.
generic unit events will react to any unit performing the action where as specific unit events only trigger if the unit you set it to does the event

I need to know if they are events/conditions/actions. I'm kinda new to this worldedit stuff so I don't know a lot of things.
