For those who have not played Warlocks:
It is a game where people fire off magic spells at each other in an arena, trying to push people of the edge and into the lava border.

Umm.. those would be triggered spells, using objects, and timers.

Example:
Code:
Object Fireball1 comes within 20.00 of Object Wall
    Explode Object Fireball
Pick all units within 150.00 of ImpactPoint
Loop- deal 10 damage to picked unit.

Edit: could be called collision, bullet, object systems
Edit: Maybe like this thread? http://www.thehelper.net/forums/showthread.php?t=107079&highlight=bullet+system Post #4
Those usually use JASS Systems like <insert an object system here>

.... Learn to type. It's hard to read when you "tIpe liek this". Anyways.... You don't need triggers for what you want to do.

"spell that explodes and damages on impact"

Requires no triggers.... Just base your spell off of "Firebolt".

Just saying, in the game Warlocks, which he wishes to mimic, the players control a warlock with no attack, and have up to 8 spells that they fire that travel in a line until collision with a column, another spell, or a player.

When players are hit by spells, they take damage and are knocked back. The more damage taken, the more the knockback. The game is played in an arena surrounded by lava. The spells have various effects such as lifesteal, bounce, gravity, freeze, etc...

Recap of my post: he needs a slide trigger.

I have played Warlocks. I know. He would either need a slide or a knockback system. There are many of each on these forums. But he said he wanted a "spell that explodes and damages on impact". Which requires no triggers.

sorry, wat i meant was spells that fly and explode on collision with the first target. regardless of wat range it was cast at. i dun realy need to knockback and slide, just the trigger that causes the spell missile to explode on the first thing it hits and doing dmg.

*and wat does the slide trigger do? the slide trigger has no unit to slide??

There is a tutorial somewhere on TheHelper of Elune's Arrow. Use the search function. Basically, it shoots out an arrow in a straight line and hits the first unit it comes in contact to.

You'd need to slide that missile.
I'm certain that "Elunes Arrow" uses slide triggers to move it.

There is no way to detect when a unit comes within range of anything that's not a unit. So the projectile will have to be a unit with locust.

Just use an ordinary frost arrow dummy unit with Locust ability. It should be quite simple enough to do.
