I don't have to lie. I pretty much just walk up to whichever one I want and say "Now."
ANYWAYS, anyone else submitting a poem anytime soon? lol

P.S. I'm not ACTUALLY that conceited.
I'm substantially moreso.
Nah, not really.

Here's mine:

Snow White lay in her coffin,
Pale as pale could be,
And then up rode the Prince,
Had he heard her silent plea?
"I've come to save you, Snow!"
He declared, as he kissed her nose.
"You cheating lying snake!" She said,
"I just saw you with Briar Rose!"

This is my first attempt at poetry.
I do love to write, however.

Change My Attempt
You keep dodging lights
Like a thief in the night
Dawn will rise and expose all the lies
You come and enter – willingly embrace
Karma’s kiss of withering decay
This dying youth of pleasured remedy
The fatal flaw in every plan
Is the assumption that you know more than your enemy
Falling through lines
One more breath destroys the best of you
The death of you

Absolutely no idea. The subject stumbled me so I tried to write something I believed fit with it. It's cryptic so to speak. ;)

If it's incorrect then ignore it. I though I would give poetry a shot. :p

The poem has to fit the theme. You can't name the fairy tale or folklore [or anything, it seems] the poem is about, so we cannot allow it into the contest.

It was good, just not fitting :)

My entry:

The Trojan Horse

The Greeks won the Trojan War,
With their horse, they passed the door,
Whereby they caused the war to be won,
But what if all this were undone?
Suppose the Trojans knew the Greeks’ plot,
With this knowledge, they may have caught
The Greeks, so secure in their creation,
Ready to destroy a once-proud nation.
Suppose the Greeks’ horse failed,
And their warriors had been unveiled.
Victory the Trojans would embrace,
And their state the Greeks would not erase.
Here is that story, so often told,
Yet in this story a new ending will unfold…

For the Greeks the war was dire,
They could not penetrate the Trojan empire.
Clever Ulysses contrived a plot,
“A great wooden horse shall be wrought!”
So saying, the Greeks began to toil,
And from mere wood a great horse uncoiled.
The inside was hollow, so as to allow
The Greek warriors to be endowed
With being effectively invisible,
So the Trojans saw not the thing so fatal.
The Greeks were hiding in their horse,
When they heard a dreadful discourse.
It was Laocoön, a priest of Neptune;
He created for the Greeks a great typhoon.
Throwing his lance at the hidden trap,
A noise was created which caused all to gasp.
And more the air of caution he lifts,
“I fear the Greeks, even when they offer gifts.”
Now all the Trojans were convinced
That Laocoön had truly evinced
The final plot which the Greeks tried,
Yet just then, someone espied
Two hideous beings of great stature;
Behold! they were fearsome adders.
Towards Laocoön they went,
On his destruction, they were bent.
Yet the will of Laocoön did not falter;
He stood like a statue atop an altar.
With his bare hands he encountered the snakes,
And with godly strength their backs he breaks.
All the Trojans stood in awe,
No more from him did they withdraw.
They erected a great and awful fire,
And the plot of the Greeks then went haywire.
From the great flame, the wooden horse burned,
And never again did the Greeks return.

The fact that you think my poem was good makes me feel like a winner anyways. :D

You should really try to aim for that theme, Sixth House. Many of the other members can be shaky with the theme, and they usually win that way by being unique. You probably have the ability to produce something really good, Sixth. But I think you're simply masking your talent with a simple excuse. Challenge yourself, so you can learn and advance in your knowledge of literature.

Don't be afraid to fail sometimes. I always fail, which just inspires me to keep on going. But when I succeed, it's pretty a sweet feeling. I gotta admit. :D

Thanks for the motivation, Ninva. :)
Am I aloud to try another poem that actually fits the theme Seth Cross?
I'm sure I can come up with something.

Lets try this again!
It's an old Folklore about Cinderella.

To Cinderella
Visually your stimulating to my eyes
Your love for affection is at a rise
To Cinderella, a syndrome for a price
The hellish life by each rythem
Has come to see your demise

As beautiful the way you are
It's so pitiful what you are
Should have seen this coming
All along

As vanities a weakness built to fleece the unique
To Cinderella, a syndrome full of lies
Your love for her will collide
Your insecurities are concealed by your pride
Pretty soon your ego will kill what’s left inside

Hopefully this is acceptable.

Very nice poem, although there were a few typos and possibly the forgetting of some verbs here and there (nothing major). It's better than mine

Signatures can be edit in your account profile. As for the old stuffs, I'm thinking it's because Blizzard is now under Microsoft, and because of Microsoft Xbox going the way it is, it's dreadful.

Crazy how much 3d printing has come in the last few years. Sad that it's not as easily modifiable though
  • Varine Varine:
I bought an Ender 3 during the pandemic and tinkered with it all the time. Just bought a Sovol, not as easy. I'm trying to make it use a different nozzle because I have a fuck ton of Volcanos, and they use what is basically a modified volcano that is just a smidge longer, and almost every part on this thing needs to be redone to make it work
  • Varine Varine:
Luckily I have a 3d printer for that, I guess. But it's ridiculous. The regular volcanos are 21mm, these Sovol versions are about 23.5mm
  • Varine Varine:
So, 2.5mm longer. But the thing that measures the bed is about 1.5mm above the nozzle, so if I swap it with a volcano then I'm 1mm behind it. So cool, new bracket to swap that, but THEN the fan shroud to direct air at the part is ALSO going to be .5mm to low, and so I need to redo that, but by doing that it is a little bit off where it should be blowing and it's throwing it at the heating block instead of the part, and fuck man
  • Varine Varine:
I didn't realize they designed this entire thing to NOT be modded. I would have just got a fucking Bambu if I knew that, the whole point was I could fuck with this. And no one else makes shit for Sovol so I have to go through them, and they have... interesting pricing models. So I have a new extruder altogether that I'm taking apart and going to just design a whole new one to use my nozzles. Dumb design.
  • Varine Varine:
Can't just buy a new heatblock, you need to get a whole hotend - so block, heater cartridge, thermistor, heatbreak, and nozzle. And they put this fucking paste in there so I can't take the thermistor or cartridge out with any ease, that's 30 dollars. Or you can get the whole extrudor with the direct driver AND that heatblock for like 50, but you still can't get any of it to come apart
  • Varine Varine:
Partsbuilt has individual parts I found but they're expensive. I think I can get bits swapped around and make this work with generic shit though
  • Ghan Ghan:
Heard Houston got hit pretty bad by storms last night. Hope all is well with TH.
