I got a question. Can you make it do some rivers and lakes and stuff? If not, is there even a way to add that with triggers?

> On the unbuildable rock you could make it place rock doodads that would look nice.

I can only do destructables, unfortunately. There is a rock destructable, but it's that selectable one that you can destroy.

When terrain is done, pick every rock and make it invulnerable?

Hey, this is cool, thanks. But do you think you could make a smaller version, like one that in a small area of the map, randomly makes some terrain?

I say turn the whole map into water in the editor, then with the water thing unchecked (forget what its called) put the land back on top. Then should the generator make a low enough level, water will appear and be "generated" into the map. Gotta love it when you trick a map into doing what you want it to :D

When generating destructables, is it possible to set the scaling value of the trees? Trees with a modified scaling value work fine when individually placed in the editor, but all generated ones seem to be the tiny default size.

This is almost exactly what I need, but I need it to generate a specific shape/texture, just in a different region every time...

Do you know how I could do that?

very nice system. i made a similar one for one of my games and i know how hard it is. though the problem is that the terrain and destructibles are not visible on the map, you could change it by creating dummy units at the positions but this might cause heavy lagg depending on how many units you will need.

btw: heres my game, the generator i am using is very much the same way to go, just a bit more complicated for the games engine: Link

Well, it is random... Though it uses only a few tilesets at each game start. It doesn't offer full randomization (like first game snow, second fall, etc.) if that's what you wanted so you have to trigger it yourself.

JASS version doesn't use the Set AffectedRegion variable in the Height Generator. The result? Everywhere on my map gets affected and it causes a huge amount of lag.

Other than that it's a nice system.

Sorry to bring this topic back alive again, but the generator is taking too long to create a simple 64x64 map. Do you guys can suggest me something to make it faster? Thanks.

If you reduce the seed number it should work more quickly. What are you setting it at now?

It's currently at 160. And it takes about 45 seconds to generate the terrain. Also, I'm using the GUI version, since I can't find the JASS one.

Signatures can be edit in your account profile. As for the old stuffs, I'm thinking it's because Blizzard is now under Microsoft, and because of Microsoft Xbox going the way it is, it's dreadful.

Crazy how much 3d printing has come in the last few years. Sad that it's not as easily modifiable though
  • Varine Varine:
I bought an Ender 3 during the pandemic and tinkered with it all the time. Just bought a Sovol, not as easy. I'm trying to make it use a different nozzle because I have a fuck ton of Volcanos, and they use what is basically a modified volcano that is just a smidge longer, and almost every part on this thing needs to be redone to make it work
  • Varine Varine:
Luckily I have a 3d printer for that, I guess. But it's ridiculous. The regular volcanos are 21mm, these Sovol versions are about 23.5mm
  • Varine Varine:
So, 2.5mm longer. But the thing that measures the bed is about 1.5mm above the nozzle, so if I swap it with a volcano then I'm 1mm behind it. So cool, new bracket to swap that, but THEN the fan shroud to direct air at the part is ALSO going to be .5mm to low, and so I need to redo that, but by doing that it is a little bit off where it should be blowing and it's throwing it at the heating block instead of the part, and fuck man
  • Varine Varine:
I didn't realize they designed this entire thing to NOT be modded. I would have just got a fucking Bambu if I knew that, the whole point was I could fuck with this. And no one else makes shit for Sovol so I have to go through them, and they have... interesting pricing models. So I have a new extruder altogether that I'm taking apart and going to just design a whole new one to use my nozzles. Dumb design.
  • Varine Varine:
Can't just buy a new heatblock, you need to get a whole hotend - so block, heater cartridge, thermistor, heatbreak, and nozzle. And they put this fucking paste in there so I can't take the thermistor or cartridge out with any ease, that's 30 dollars. Or you can get the whole extrudor with the direct driver AND that heatblock for like 50, but you still can't get any of it to come apart
  • Varine Varine:
Partsbuilt has individual parts I found but they're expensive. I think I can get bits swapped around and make this work with generic shit though
