Hello,

I'm trying to add this system: http://www.wc3c.net/showthread.php?t=85952
Its a Tree Fade System so when units go under the tree the tree turns transparent.

I've tried and tried to learn to add the animation(Stand Alternate) which makes the tree transparent. But failed every time.

I have about 10 tree models and some arches, that I need to have this animation.

If you are willing to edit them for me that would be great, as well as if som1 walks me through adding them myself.

Use a custom tint, possibly.

I think this can be used in JASS. I believe 10010010075 will make it transparent.

Hrm, if you can upload that tree with working stand alternative fade animation and those trees that need it, I can try to do it.

Just remember that my modelling skills kinda suck, so there is a chance that i cant do it.

But Im willing to try.

edit. And yea, its sad that destructibles have no vertex colour :(

Sry, I forgot this thread totally.


I downloaded those now and Im going to see how that stuff works.

edit. New animation succesfully implemented. ( I guess. At least it seems to be working in Magos Model editor. )


It is a really easy job and takes only few changes if you know what to do. I can teach you how to do it if you want.

edit2. I didnt test it in game, so tell me if it doesnt work.
If you have more destructible models in need of similiar fade animations, I can teach you how to do that stuff.

Testing now

Edit: Didn't work, all it did was add a stump D:, and isn't transparent.

Edit2: Wait, in game it disapears. Which isn't the effect I wanted D:, I ment transparent, where you can still slighty see it but you can see through it, like an invisable unit?

Ok, I see if I can find whats wrong.

It seemed to be working fine in model editor, though. so I must be close to the solution.. ( I hope )

And yea, it is supposed to have trasnparent material layer under that normal material layer, so it should be transparent...

edit. Did some fixing. Made that stump geoset not visible for some animations and stuff like that.

Ill test that tree myself later and see it if works now.

edit2. Hrm, didnt test it ingame yet, but I guess I upload it here anyways.

Yea, lols. My trees are no longer visible at all.

Model works fine in model editor and in world editor, but fails ingame and I have no idea why.

I guess I need to wait till I see my model maker expert guy, and ask him about this stuff.

Damn. :/

I suggest you just get a basic model editor and change the tree's tinting to 10010010075.

    Crazy how much 3d printing has come in the last few years. Sad that it's not as easily modifiable though

    I bought an Ender 3 during the pandemic and tinkered with it all the time. Just bought a Sovol, not as easy. I'm trying to make it use a different nozzle because I have a fuck ton of Volcanos, and they use what is basically a modified volcano that is just a smidge longer, and almost every part on this thing needs to be redone to make it work

    Luckily I have a 3d printer for that, I guess. But it's ridiculous. The regular volcanos are 21mm, these Sovol versions are about 23.5mm

    So, 2.5mm longer. But the thing that measures the bed is about 1.5mm above the nozzle, so if I swap it with a volcano then I'm 1mm behind it. So cool, new bracket to swap that, but THEN the fan shroud to direct air at the part is ALSO going to be .5mm to low, and so I need to redo that, but by doing that it is a little bit off where it should be blowing and it's throwing it at the heating block instead of the part, and fuck man

    I didn't realize they designed this entire thing to NOT be modded. I would have just got a fucking Bambu if I knew that, the whole point was I could fuck with this. And no one else makes shit for Sovol so I have to go through them, and they have... interesting pricing models. So I have a new extruder altogether that I'm taking apart and going to just design a whole new one to use my nozzles. Dumb design.

    Can't just buy a new heatblock, you need to get a whole hotend - so block, heater cartridge, thermistor, heatbreak, and nozzle. And they put this fucking paste in there so I can't take the thermistor or cartridge out with any ease, that's 30 dollars. Or you can get the whole extrudor with the direct driver AND that heatblock for like 50, but you still can't get any of it to come apart

    Partsbuilt has individual parts I found but they're expensive. I think I can get bits swapped around and make this work with generic shit though
