...has ended up becoming something quite different. Rather than making yet another TD, I've had an idea which I think (correct me if i am wrong) is original.
The map will feature a section for each player and one creep section. Each player section will have an enter portal, exit portal and primary tower. The creep section will have a portal for each player section.
Creep will spawn (in the creep section) and enter one of the player portals (random for each creep). The creep will run a circuit through the player sections, entering and exiting until killed or the game ends. When initially spawned a creep will start with a number of gold, which it will drop as it runs around. When a creep is killed it will cost the player gold (instead of giving it). How much this is or what it will be based on I haven't decided. Also a harder creep will be created when the weaker creep dies. When a creep runs out of gold though, it will raid the primary tower of the player whose section it is in to replenish its stock of gold. I may also include a toll on the gateways, stealing money from travelling creep.
Gold will be given to each player periodically, and players can then spend this on making towers with various abilities and attacks. I plan on including a bank as well, where players can deposit a quantity of money for a set time before withdrawing with interest (thought of this after playing the Warhammer 40K map ).
I'm not entirely sure how the game will end. Initially I thought that the game would end when only one player is left; the others having been eliminated as their gold becomes less than 0. On the other hand I would like the total number of creeps killed to be a factor in the outcome. I may make multiple play modes, but first I'll implement the first method mentioned.
Not a very polished idea, but a lot more interesting than my first one
All feedback and comments appreciated.
