First I have two unit group leaders; a Captain(player1) and a Fel orc grunt(player2).

Both the Captain and the Fel orc have several "minions".
As the code states they are all placed into unitgroups:

Code:
Unit groups
    Events
        Map initialization
    Conditions
    Actions
        Unit Group - Add Captain 0008 <gen> to Leader[1]
Unit Group - Add Fel Orc Grunt 0009 <gen> to Leader[2]
Unit Group - Pick every unit in (Units within 700.00 of (Position of Captain 0008 <gen>)) and do (Actions)
            Loop - Actions
Unit Group - Add (Picked unit) to Group[1]
Unit Group - Pick every unit in (Units within 700.00 of (Position of Fel Orc Grunt 0009 <gen>)) and do (Actions)
            Loop - Actions
Unit Group - Add (Picked unit) to Group[2]
        Wait 1.00 seconds
Trigger - Run Charge <gen> (checking conditions)

Then I want them to attack-move towards "center of playable maparea".

Code:
Charge
    Events
    Conditions
    Actions
Unit Group - Order Group[1] to Attack-Move To (Center of (Playable map area))
Unit Group - Order Group[2] to Attack-Move To (Center of (Playable map area))
Unit Group - Order Leader[1] to Attack-Move To (Player 3 (Teal) start location)
Unit Group - Order Leader[2] to Attack-Move To (Player 3 (Teal) start location)

And then The Captain and his footmen runs towards the center while all the Orcs stand still. Appearantly the leaders can't run towards a start location but the orcs should still go towards the center as the footmen. Can someone explain that to me? Thanks!

Should they be Attack-Moving towards Player 3's starting location?

Yes, I wanted the Leaders to duel there however by ordering them to attack-move towards a region there instead I encountered the same problem as with the minions; only Player1 leader moves! What have I missed?:banghead:

Do the unit group variables have a 2+ initial array size?Because if they don't,I think they're not initialized.(the [2] array)

Have you created a region where you want them to fight, and then reffered to that region when trying to move Group/Leader[2]? Also (center of (Playable map area)) should be stored as a variable and removed.

No they were not. Now it works! Thank you! How could I overlook that:nuts:

Please test my map anyway and tell me what you think of My morale failure triggers! (very basic)

First of all as The undaddy says, your arrays are set to 1 not 2, go into the variable editor and change the variables "Leader" and "Group" from Array size 1 to 2. Then your leaders will run and first at Region 002 while the units run into the center.

News portal has been retired. Main page of site goes to Headline News forum now
  • The Helper The Helper:
I am working on getting access to the old news portal under a different URL for those that would rather use that for news before we get a different news view.
  • Ghan Ghan:
    Easily done
    +1
  • The Helper The Helper:
https://www.thehelper.net/pages/news/ is a link to the old news portal - i will integrate it into the interface somewhere when i figure it out
  • Ghan Ghan:
    Need to try something
  • Ghan Ghan:
    Hopefully this won't cause problems.
  • Ghan Ghan:
    Hmm
  • Ghan Ghan:
I have converted the Headline News forum to an Article type forum. It will now show the top 20 threads with more detail of each thread.
  • Ghan Ghan:
    See how we like that.
  • The Helper The Helper:
I do not see a way to go past the 1st page of posts on the forum though
  • The Helper The Helper:
It is OK though for the main page to open up on the forum in the view it was before. As long as the portal has its own URL so it can be viewed that way I do want to try it as a regular forum view for a while
  • Ghan Ghan:
Yeah I'm not sure what the deal is with the pagination.
  • Ghan Ghan:
It SHOULD be there so I think it might just be an artifact of having an older style.
  • Ghan Ghan:
I switched it to a "Standard" article forum. This will show the thread list like normal, but the threads themselves will have the first post set up above the rest of the "comments"
  • The Helper The Helper:
I don't really get that article forum but I think it is because I have never really seen it used on a multi post thread
  • Ghan Ghan:
RpNation makes more use of it right now as an example: https://www.rpnation.com/news/

    What do you think Tom?
  • tom_mai78101 tom_mai78101:
I will have to get used to this.
  • tom_mai78101 tom_mai78101:
The latest news feed looks good
  • The Helper The Helper:
I would like to see it again like Ghan had it the first time with pagination though - without the pagination that view will not work but with pagination it just might...
