New to mapmaking, don't know what I'm doing..

First and foremost, I apologize if this is the wrong forum to post for help and what not. If not, please re-direct me to the proper place :thup:
Now for the point of my topic: I want to start creating tower defense type maps, and possibly a "Maul" type of map, though I don't know where to start. I've never used any kind of editing tools to do such things, and have no clue what I'm doing, but I'm a quick learner. If there are anything anyone could recommend I read/watch/have a look at, please let me know! I'd really like to start on making a map as soon as possible. Though I'm confused with the World Editor itself, as I'm not familiar with it.

I would suggest you poke around in the editor for a while and get familiar with the layout. Then go to tutorials, which can be found in this section and the tutorial repository, they will be much easier to understand.
